Alriteys.........looking forward to road trip again......Me just changed some wires on Strommy coz' headlight keep switching off by itself, was charged $60 for 4 wires and workmanship. Damnit. If got time I would've fix it myself instead. $60 = RM132 = 19pkts of Marlboro!!

Think its a common problem for the headlight... fixed bt aft sometimes the pro comes back again...

dear dudes,i would highly recommend going to "Bike & Scooter" for troubleshooting any electrical faults.he would charge arnd $25 for a "headlight keep switching off by itself" type of fault.they're certified electricians and not the halffcuks you'd find at ubi :)

Hehehe ... Wow expensive man ..I thought my K2 only faced these problem, looks like the headlight is a common fault (at the connector). Anyway i have yet to mend mine , dunno when i got the time .:cry:

Yah boy........I figured out how they arrive at $60.

 

$10 - Remove fairing

$10 - Remove petrol tank

$5 - Test fuses

$0.50 - Replace 4 wires

$9.50 - Test light working

$15 - Put back fuel Tank

$10 - Put back Fairing

 

====$60!!!

Anyone here had replaced their fork springs and rear shock ?

Care to share info on the brand ,specs , price ....not forgetting availability - which shop ?

local or overseas

 

I am aware that Peter had Wilbers and Wirth springs ...

 

And also if anyone came across motoshop selling Bridgestones Battlewing BT501/ 502 , kindly inform me . thanks;)

Actually was thinking. Does anyone know a good n reasonable priced mechanic that is near Serangoon North area I can go to? Basic service, change some parts and familiar with V-Strom bikes. Its quite troublesome to go Eunos for me and I feel I'm always kana cheated.

its at Upper Serangoon...i always go there for everything.

the dude there has rebuilt an oldschool BMW F800GS from scratch,

and he's also done the K2/K3 stroms before..

Well i dun think the new tourance will be here soon . Yesterday went down to HKL , saw the new set of Battlewing BT501/502 ; was qoute $320 , old Tourance @ $340 and also Anakee @ $340 also . Price are inclusive of workmanship and balancing ... before discount .

Chan at M-Technik can order the Wilbers springs for the V-Strom.

Yup , changing my tyres soon but will recce other motoshops cos the battlewings i saw @ HKL are 'H" rated . I ll check with them if they got the V rated . I ll drop u a pm once its finalized. :thumb:

CAN!!! Just get me a new cartridge to re-fill the air. I think its $40. But I was wondering if can use the tire refill from Lim Ah Boy, I think that one only $10. But not sure if the headstock can fit.
