hi all bros out there, im a new guy. still havent finish my class 2b 😂 but i just want to prepare myself the next time when i get a bike. may i know a rough estimation of what the insurance prices are for the respective bikes ? thanks alot bros.

Just found out that a 2b license holder can buy a class 2 bike & get insurance!

 

I accompanied someone to buy a bike from direct seller and did the transfer at LTA yesterday. Insurance is under his name, and he transferred the bike to his name... after the whole thing done, he told me he only got class 2b license n showed me his license. He told me he learned this from a fren so he also tried n it worked!

You don't even need insurance or pay road tax to own a motorcycle. Only the COE is needed and registered. You just cannot ride the motorcycle in Singapore.

 

Probably a sensible thing to do if you already own a car, got trailer, and just want to ride the bike on track/trail on private land.

you need insurance to do the transfer of ownership. Without a valid insurance, u cannot do the transfer. Even road tax is to be paid when u do the transfer.

Yea, that's true. Can't do the transfer at LTA office without the insurer and road tax slip, but if you did not renew, I don't think it's illegal to continue owning it as long as not ridden.

Just replying to the previous, you can't ride it without a valid license, only buy. I added that you can even continue keeping your bike even if you lapse in renewing insurance and road tax.

lol bro... Btw, u don't have to pay to park ur bike in a gantry carpark ... its only when u leave that u need to pay. U can even continue to park ur bike or car till u die without ever paying for it.

What I can say is, do your homework and get all the quotes you can.

You will be surprised when other company offer you 20-40% lesser then your current insurer.
