Balancing of tyres can do on tyres itself one meh?...

went to fix back tyres @ bike shop..

when i ask he do balancing anot liao.

he say he do on the tyres itself liao..

 

??..

can b done???..

he say same as car...can balance on tyres itself.

 

somehow i think he is toking crap........

the balancing of wheels is done on the rims by placing weights on the lighter areas.

so no need to fix the rims back to the bike one.....

er.....like everything fix back liao ..then ride the bike over to a machine to balance....

 

so he will know where is a lighter side after fixing the tyres on rims...

balancing is either by placing the rims with tyres on machine or manual de is placed on a small upside down L and do de. doing with everything on bike, i nv see b4 :sweat:

Here's a video that shows how to diy wheel balancing. I would recommend to get professional help. Nowdays most bikeshop have wheel balancing machines.Un less you live in the middle of nowhere.:cheeky:

Heard from a friend of mine. (Dunno if its true or not) there's a marking on the sidewall red or yellow dot. The mech just need to line up the dot to the valve stem,then its considered balanced.

no lah.. gotta use the machine one what.. rotate the tyre and apply weights till all parts of the wheel are balanced mah..

Never heard of on-wheel balancing for bikes... or it's just sua ku me?

How time flies...

 

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

Try reading under the "Colored dots and stripes - whats that all about?"

 

Even if you align the red dot/coloured dot to the valve stem,you still need to add weights to balance the tyres. But you'll use abit lesser weights lah.
