This school have high resignation rate so they make their teachers sign a 1 year contract. Even admin staff also need to sign a contract although the contract maybe a shorter period for example a 6 months contract and to pay 1 month salary as compensation if you resign or get sack within 6 months

 

They cannot resign within 1 year or they need to pay 2 months salary as compensation. Even if they get sack, they also need to pay 2 months salary as compensation

 

The teachers there are very low morale.

 

Plus, the company can sack any staff and they still need to pay the 2 months compensation

 

You can try to complain to MOM but it won't work. MOM can help you to fight in labour court to get back your salary but than the company can sue in civil court under breach of contract and MOM will not hire lawyers to defend you in court

 

As such, you will be at the losing end.
