hey guys. haha i've been trying to read up the past couple of hours but still cant figure it out. i think i did ar but not really sure.

if the owner cant come to transfer bike to buyer. can someone else do it for him? let's say i help him, he only has to sign the transfer application form and pass his ic me den i can jus follow buyer to lta and complete the transfer for him?

so i recap.

1)buyer gets insurance for the bike. he can do it himself.

2)i take ic and signed app form from owner

3)i bring the abovementioned 2 and follow buyer to lta to transfer.

is this possible? i'm damn confused la sia. haha. coz both buyer and seller are in army and neither are free same time so i man in the middle.

Ans 1: Yes, buyer have to get insurance for himself before you can do transfer.. Means when you go down to LTA, you must have a valid insurance as proof so that they will do transfer for you.

Ans 2: The LTA don't mind who will do down to make the transfer as long as you have the original IC and also have the pink formed signed by the previous owner.

Ans 3: Always remember the bring the pink form, NRIC, new valid insurance, transfer fees.. :thumb:

I believe should b ok 4 buyer 2 get seller's IC and do all the transfer. When i sold my bike early last year, both me and buyer cant hav the same free time just like ur situation oso. So I juz pass my IC 2 him, sign e transfer application form then next day, buyer went down 2 LTA himself and do all the necessary 2 transfer ownership 2 his name.....Of coz its kinda scary 2 pass ur IC 2 sum1 u didnt noe.... Agree to above reply too....

For insurance, you will need to purchase your insurance before going down for the transfer. Start date for the insurance should be the day you transfer your insurance.

Termination of the existing insurance can be done immediately after the transfer is confirmed at LTA, meaning you can head down to your agent after your visit to LTA.

it doesnt matter if i terminate later den the date of transfer rite.. so i get a refund for e remaining of my insurance?cash?

it doesn't matter, but the pro rate of the insurance refund will be based on the date where u go for the refund. for some company's policies, one day difference might be a big one.

the refund might not be in the form of cash. some companies will send it to you by cheque. so it depends on the company again.
