Actualy this trip not only KSM, we also explored into war zone at Pattani n Yala... and many story abt how the RXZ got so many problems (all nearly cant come back type) in one day...

How's everybody...? Sory... been too busy at KSM no time to go online... wil update u all slowly :angel:

 

I am happy to inform all that Operation KSM is a success.

 

All 3 bikers(and their bikes) back in SG soil.

 

further updates....wait for me to wake up 1st...:angel:

 

so tired... :dozed:

 

but we survived! :cheeky:

 

will update tml (later today) morning... wait a minute... its mothers' day... make it tml nite then...

we plan to go Betong-Yala-Pattani-Hatyai trip next time...

 

wanna join?

 

talk abt Yala/Pattani... its like a war zone... army checkpoints w heavily armed soldier everyone... then when I back to SG i think maybe due to Mat Selamat kana tangkap so they afraid of another round of bombing n killing there?

but usually at night, when a&w closed already. :cheeky:

ok so I have to retype all these again... zzz... :dozed:

 

since I couldn't find internet access at betong, I shall talk about day 8 first...

 

Day 8:

 

we left our guest house at koh samui at 6am... as we have to catch the 7 am ferry... we made it on time. the ferry we boarded had a small canteen too... so I got my breakfast there :smile:

 

after we reached donsak (mainland), we went to shell... lol the v-power that xcert pumped was like 20% petrol 80% water... the rxz died about 30m away from shell... luckily there was a mech opposite shell...

 

and so we lost 3 hours... we rode through songkhla, pattani and yala to reach betong. at songkhla, a strip of tyre flew off the rear wheel of the rxz... missing me narrowly... :giddy: so we had to get the tyre changed at pattani...

 

pattani isn't as bad as I thought... the people are still very nice... but when we reach yala... omg. its like a totally different place. it was more like riding through a sunni muslim town in iraq... so many military checkpoints... people all looked so scary... loudspeakers hailing verses and messages... at least they didn't do anything to us... :weep:

 

the road between yala and betong was difficult... imagine the wildest initial d course. all that twists and turns? good. now stretch that to 100km. (LOL) it took us about 3 hours to clear that mountain road... :dozed:

 

when we finally reached betong... we checked into a random hotel that we found... luckily they had 3 rooms available, so we didn't have to search for another hotel... ok the lounging issue was solved... that leaves the other problem... food... :giddy:

 

it was 1am then... we were almost destined to eat 7-11 food for dinner... but we decided to take a short walk around... there was one foodstall still open... so we ordered noodles and shared a plate of stir fried wild boar... although the "wild boar" was more like normal pork... haha

 

then... finally knock ourselves out...

 

 

 

Day 9:

 

we assembled at 9.30am... loaded up our bikes and off we went... there is this foodstall that ninjapura wanted to go to, so we had breakfast there... the noodles are nice... since both ninjapura and xcert are actually v-maxes in disguise... they opened v-boost and ordered a bowl of curry noodles each...

 

meanwhile... I was observing the surroundings... interesting things that I noticed are such as... people actually wear helmets in betong! unlike the rest of thailand... and here there are a lot of people that speak cantonese... and... there are many 2t bikes around! in the other parts of thailand... its like 99% 4t bikes... haha rxz have friends here :cheeky:

 

we crossed the border at about 11am... ha its so funny to see the malaysian gate to be directly opposite the thai gate...

 

gerik highway was indeed scenic... there are twists and turns... but nowhere as insane as the road between yala and betong... it wasn't long before we hit the oh-so-familiar north south highway again... slowly and unsurely we made our way south...

 

then lol at 320km from the thai border the rxz suddenly died... we didn't know what was wrong with it... luckily after a push start it manage to start again... we were quite worried that a repeat of the cbr150r incident would happen again... :cheeky:

 

a little past midnight, at 12.15am we reached gp petronas! we were surprised by how many familiar faces we saw there... haha... at least, it was mission accomplished for us... oh wait... I haven't crossed to singapore border yet... since I had to rush off for the phantom knights cohesion ride... I didn't stayed for long... but neither did anyone else... so off we went! :smile:

 

Total mileage:

TA200 - 3092km

CB400 - 252km

 

Total expenditure

lol... I have to skip two weekend practises... see how :smile:

 

but yea so many checkpoints... somemore at one of the checkpoints it was like chickens talking to ducks... was a little worried that they would detain us... :cry:

haha... the 1200km trip must be done something bad to my face
