P-plate does not mean cannot tour or what.

What we have worry is the experience and exposure to Road.

Compare with someone who is driving for donkeys years and just got his 2b. He have experience idiot on the road and know how to chiong or stop.

We don`t gauge a person by his p-plate. but the way he handler the bike.

well, I always proud of him as "role model", and abt his good spirit. And let's not go n point finger at any individual... u r not him, its not fair for u to judge his skill, or "luck".

and i always dun take the P-plate as a judging tool whether a person can go touring not... ultimately its the rider skill and most impt his spirit to go...

i have seen many class 2 riders, the most their bike is in SG soil... and comparing a cl2 rider who always in SG, or a cl2b rider who always go north, I dun see the cl2b rider is anyway inferior skill than a cl2 rider...

so can u tell me, need how many yrs of licence to "qualify" for touring?

and again, if mischap happen, for sure I wil have resource to repair or ship back the bike... again I dun have to tel u how, those with me they know how I handle their things...

in KSM we hv encountered many many issues, and was solved together. If merely forever sit down in SG we can never learn anything.

perhaps u shld ride up north with us one day n experience the brotherhood together :thumb:

good one chief :thumb:

agree with you especially when curiosity overkills the ability to stay within each's limit .... in short if 1 out of the pack is down, the entire team had to rescue him & the entire plan might be affected ....

well said...GO TOGETHER BACK TOGETHER

is great to know you've resources to repair or ship back the bike, at least we can be of peace mind.

my personal view, i never like to compare whether one is cl2b, 2a, 2 be it touring, racing etc etc. [lucky i'm 2a, so is kind of not here not there or some put it 5354 not 3 not 4 ]

to me, all bikers are the same be it what kind of bike one's riding.

each individual of us has our perception/view/life style etc etc.

some like red, some like blue others like green blah blah blah...so to each his own.

as i put it in my facebook before 'I'M WHO I'M, DO NOT CHANGE ME BUT LOVE ME AS WHO I'M'. guess everyone is special in their own way.

i m not judging him as an individual or anyone here but to be exact, i m more concern abt P-platers taking things easy & start to travel up north without any experienced buddies resulting in disastrous mishaps. You can take him as your "role model" but i definitely do have my fair share of opinions here too. The comparison between the Cl2 & 2B rider & how many yrs of license to "qualify" for touring were your doubts & concerns, not mine coz these topics were not raised up in my earlier postings. :thumb:

got a point there...

just share how i started my touring...

i started last yr sep 2008 when a good buddy[Fj] of mine 'jio' me to bt indah old town white coffee. i was just riding s4 after selling off my phantom. Fj didn't know i've been riding for decades and only last few yrs that i started to ride again. reason why he did not 'jio' me when i was riding phantom was bcos he felt i was not readied from experience. i know where he comes from.

though i've been riding for many yrs but i still scepticle about travelling malaysia for that very 1st time. from bt indah, i slowly travel further and further till where i was now.

so what i liike to conclude to new and inexperience bikers especially those just getting their licence and bike, is to travel a short distance before venturing too far too deep, get use of your machine and experience how to react in different situation will helps you in your riding, not to mention touring. [don't be hero to become zero - quote from a FAMOUS biker here,]

even travelling in sg during the past decade, i've my share of skid, near-miss and close shave...and i was young, hot-blooded once

just my 2cents or bahts.

Accident wil happen, be it P-plater or experienced tourer. So, be it P-plater or experienced tourer, anyone traveling even to JB shld be sensible and responsible enuf to care of his bike and own safety. If they wan to take things easy then if piang liao then god bless... but of cos I blif noone wan to take thing easy while riding... unless as I said he is just not sensible or responsible to him and his family...

Actualy the more riding experience we hav, the more we wil take thing easy.. sometimes I just lazy to put on full face and just anyhow open face...

We are only concerned for everyone's safety and well being.

But he is definately better than to be with than 'some times riding alone doing anything'

learning to be a better rider.

Sometime is better to bring New bird to touring then ask those experience old bird.

New bird will tend to listen to us and follow us carefully.

Those old bird will tend to give you more option and anyhow chiong.(Encik experience)

When you get more experience, more and more we don`t care.

Well, maybe some of u come from the view of "safety", but I am coming from the view of "spirit".

Typical of being singaporean, alot of us r just kiasu kiasi, and to many Malaysia like a horrible place to go... driver or rider... so for those 2b rider, people always tell them dun go north la, so dangerous, u not ready la... wait... but who r u to tel them ready or not? Does it mean have to ride until cl2a or cl2 then more riding experience is ready? or mean 2b must be lead by those big bikes?

So to me, ya safety very important, but the spirit also need to be there. If u have no spirit and passion for touring, give u a cl2 bike and 10 yrs of riding of experience u may still in SG, or maybe even go for driving...

This I want to share to other 2b riders, go out to ride n tour, do ur part and follow ur heart... even though people say u cant. And I blif this is the purpose of this 2B Bike Trips thread.

Peace...
