ouch.. how much does replacing the timing chain cost? had a scare last week also.. occasionally hearing tick tick sound.. after realised its only my hp strap hitting the tank..

...just change header...

jus changed headers?

most probably a leak of exhaust fumes at the gaskets area...

did u replace the 4 gaskets for the headers?

The ticking sound made when the cam is pushing the valve tip to open the valve. If your mileage is more that 120k then adviseable to do top service. Best to get it checked coz you might only be needing valve clearance adjustment only.

If you want to detect air leaks between the header and exhaust port, try get a piece of paper, hold it near the exhaust port.

The sound is the result of the timing chain not set properly or have become loose. Jus proceed to a shop and ask them to check. SHould not be a mojor problem.

i experience this problem. but after warming up its gone. been sometime already but still dunno wats the problem. but my mileage only around 11k.

clutch housing worn out... but its ok... my spec 1 140k mileage. changed a 2nd hand clutch housing but the sound still there.

when clutch in, totally no sound, no vibration. but release clutch in neutral the sound and vibration do get irritating. but generally no prob one.

c'est la vie~

In my opinion bro the sound is made when you main gear shaft in the gearbox is spinning. When you clutch in,the sound is gone as power from the engine is not transmitted to the main gear shaft.

(This does'nt apply to all bikes.)

true.. recently i also realise that my bike vibrates while in neutral, but when i clutch in, the vibration is gone.

isn't putting the gear in neutral same as clutching in?

Nope..when you bike is at neutral the maingear shaft is still spinning. Its just the the selector forks are not in any gear position.

Cam pushing the value tip to open the value - is opening of value good or no good...

sometimes when i hear the tick sound i open vtec and whack awhile the sound gone. mayb the bike wan some whacking? =x

Sound gone because once the engine is fully warmed up,the gap between the cam and valve cap gets lesser due heat expansion. ;)

:? cam and valve cap gets lesser:? Is this normal for all "season S4". Why does Cam and valve got wider in the first place. :giddy:

Its norm for all engines(overhead cam or overhead valve),the cam and valve cap or tappet wears out abit to fricition. So,to keep the gap to specification, they install in shims.

(This does'nt apply to hydraulic lifters on some engines.)
