Having rode 2 pulsars (pulsar -> phantom -> pulsar), I would say that it's a pretty solid bike.

I'll just list down my pet peeves about it:

1. Handle bar design only allows mounting of phone holder and if you want to add like gopro etc, you have to do mirror mount.

2. No rear abs (but not critical for a 2b bike, practice your e-stop).

3. No LED headlights (only a slight issue if  you go Malaysia and the road isn't lit properly)

How do u find the resale value? And agent/dealer still selling this model brand new?

Infact I wanted to buy new but hesitate due to high COE $$ and afraid to lose much $$ (poor resale value) when selling after riding for 2 to 3 yrs bcos I intend to upgrade to class 2A.

I service at universal motors (local distributor) and here's the pricing:

Oil change = 1.5 bottles and depending on what oil you choose can vary (est. $36)

Oil filter = $8.50

Spark plugs = 3x8 =$24

Air filter = $20

Tappet adjustment = $50

Battery = $70

Radiator assembly= $285

Only the first 4 are regular items and it costs me roughly $60 every 2 months?

Honestly since you're looking to upgrade, I won't recommending buying new as it'll depreciate a lot (most bikes will unless you go for those in demand like R15). Resale value is there, but ultimately depends on whether you got a good deal initially too (bought my second one a year ago for about 8.5k with 8 years left).

But for you, I would say just make do and get something to last for a year. Phantom if you get a good deal damn worth especially if you find one with NEA rebate (that's $3,500 locked in).

What's NEA rebate? Isit referring to PARF just like for car?

Btw I am standing at 1.81 mtr tall. Which type of bikes sit comfortably?

Last weekend I went to view Honda MSX-125 and test ride. Bike looks & condition both are excellent. The only downside was bike size which is very small and low ride for me to sit comfortably. I guess it's more to ladies bike than for guys.

Best is to try out the bike yourself.

I'm 1.9m and felt okay riding pulsar and phantom (low cruiser bike) but didn't quite like ktm duke due to the tank profile.

Any idea what is "add-in sub-rider" means?

One bike owner suggested cash $1,000 and I continue his mthly installment $251 for 18 mths. Once I completed installment he will trsf his bike to my name but at mean time he will add-in my name in his insurance as sub-rider.

Btw his bike left 2 yrs.

Trust us on this.. do not sub-ride a bike.. after you clear finish.. he can claim that bike is his and not yours.. since you are only "sub-rider".. he's the main rider/owner when installment is done..

Unless he's your friend or family member, then you may consider.. otherwise, not recommended..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Please proceed to this website/web link if you guys have any technical issues on Kawasaki Kips/KR150, I'll update the 1st POST as and when there's a new question. Newbies questions on the top as well. :)

Thanks for your valuable advice. I will skip the deal.
