Squeeky brake

some cheapo brand brake pads will become squeaky after prolong hard braking. No choice to change to another better brand of brake pads/drum brake to solve the squeaky sound. If u know how to take out the rear drum brake, can clean up the whole drum brake assembly and drum brake first to see whether it help. cheers.

Hi Bros, any good recommendation for ST200 Gilera runner? Changed my rear brake pads but squeaky noisy sound when i apply brake.

 

if it's brand new, can go back to the workshop where u changed n question them.

 

my brand new brakes after using a few mth also squeaking sound, however now it disappeared, dont know why also, i've never take out the assembly or cleaned it.

 

imo, if the squeak not too loud, it's ok.

Try putting some grease on the back side of the pad. Chamfering the edges of the brake pad material also works.

the sound come from the pad n drum, grease if drop btw the pads will cause ur brake to be ineffective, beside it doesn't serve any purpose greasing the back of the pad.

i tink wat he meant was the part where the pads are in contact wif d piston.. cux if it sticks, it can cause probs for ur brake too..
