Hi guys, it's been a while. recently i've been having problems with my bike. My atlantic has been having this metal grinding sound coming from the engine whenever the temp gauge reaches the 3/4 mark just before the fan comes on. the metal grinding sound only occurs when i'm reving at low speeds or picking up. i've sent my bike to mah p/l and the mechanic there told me that it's a problem with the clutch and that it can be fixed and i won't be charged cos it's covered under warranty. it took almost a whole day to get it done as i sent it early in the morning and got my bike back in the evening.

i then left singapore for my company trip and just got back and realise that the problem still exist. Any fellow atlanticians facing the same problem? i hardly even rev my bike and mostly travel max 80km/h on the expressways. My bike is bought brand new from mah in april and i think this is really unacceptable. I have wasted a couple of trips down to mah this month to get it checked and the first time i was told that it was normal until my pillion commented on the metal grinding sound. I am taking my bike back to mah first thing tomorrow morning to get it repaired again and hope all you brothers out there can give me some advices or comments.

Thanks! :help:

Hi Papadum,

I think you have the same problem as mine, metal grinding sound coming from the engine if going at 40 ~ 50 km/h but I have solved the problem.

The metal griding sound is coming from the exhaust pipe metal heat shield, try taking out and riding around. If it solve the problem, you just need 6 washers (3 washers behind the metal shield, 3 washers infront) then tighten the 3 screws.

Hope it help

Hi John, thanks for the tips. My problem actually ain't the exhaust but the clutch itself. i just brought my bike down to mah p/l today to get the problem fixed and i hope things will be fine now. :goodluck:

Change a number of stuffs yesterday for the impending trip to Cameron. First time I opened up my scarabeo and the belt is very small, unlike the X9 one. As small as the one on the Sfera. I changed it nonetheless and it cost $87 without installation from Mah. :giddy: Apparently, no one else imports so lan lan, gotta buy from there. :sian: Scary man, the most often worn out parts (except the brakes) of my bike cost so much.

Met ocearth there at Mah, she really getting the hornet 250, fierce.

Hi papadum, I'm having the same problem as you.

Do you know how much it cost to fix it?

I think its due to the timing on engaging and disengage of clutch.

Wang Zi, If you need my help on that PM me anytime.

I have remove twice before its easy.

Hi atlantic! i got my problem fixed by mah's mechanic. it's FOC as my bike is still under warranty. You're dead right! The problem is with the clutch and i think you should send yours in for repair too. :goodluck:

Hi atlantic, how's your bike now? Btw, did you bought your bike from Mah? If yes, they should have a record in their database. If you got yours from dexing or elsewhere then perhaps you should bring it back to where you bought it or pm mah_pte_ltd for solutions. :goodluck:

Wang Zi, I suggest you don't anyhow install accessorie onto your bikes.

Or your warranty may be void if anything goes wrong on your bikes.

I'm having some problem with the MAH, on the warranty issuse.

They said if any acc is found done on you bikes the warranty is void, thus I'm going to bring this up the the aprilia managment attention as I find it ridiculous

Paggio the X niners don't have such problems. Why are the MAH giving such problems.

Anyway wish me luck in solving this isusse with the MAH.

I hope this thing can be resolved on a give and take situations.
