Transfer Rumours: April 07

Rumours persist that United are set to renew their interest in Tottenham's Bulgarian international striker Dimitar Berbatov when the transfer window re-opens.

The red-hot forward was linked with United before signing for Spurs last summer, and the player himself claimed there was strong interest in his services from Old Trafford.

Martin Jol has voiced his intent to keep hold of Berbatov beyond the end of this season, but various tabloids continue to link United with a summer bid in the region of £19million.

Berbatov joins long term targets Owen Hargreaves and Nani on Sir Alex Ferguson's supposed shopping list, while Mikael Silvestre and Wes Brown continue to be linked with Newcastle.

As always, we leave you to form your own views and post them, if you wish, on our message board, manutd.com/talkingreds. The club has a policy of not commenting on speculation but ManUtd.com would welcome your views...

i'm a Man U fan for decades, juz finished watching the Roma game. Juz my observation, i realised that whenever Wes Brown plays and the opposition scores,he's got a part in it. A missed tackle letting the player through, a deflection off his leg into goal like tonite...

Damn...he's just very bad luck! always hoping Fergie will sell him away ,like what he did to Barthez long time ago.

Ole Guna Solskjaer,on the other hand, is a lucky charm. His presence on the pitch will always bring good news for the Reds.

Well, the result wasnt all bad tonite. When the Italians come to Devil's Ground, it'll be delightful to watch.

im also not a Brown's fan but sumtimes when u expect him to be outplayed or outrun,he will managed to step up n be counted..juz sumtimes thou..hehe.i didnt watch the Roma's game but am very sad to learn of the loss..n scholes was sent off in the 30th min rite?muz be very tough for the whole team to perform with 10 man, especially w/o him..

but at least we scored the crucial away goal,so dat means we will only need a 1-0 victory at home rite?will try to catch the repeat telecast on TV n see wat went wrong..have a grt long weekend guys..koz come Tuesday night, our beloved Man United will march on to the UEFA Champions League Semis..n make it a better weekday for all of us..Cheers!!!

dont tink brown will be sold anytime soon...cuz united dont have an out and out centre back if rio or vidic gets injured...neville, heinze and o'shea are not natural centre backs...if anything...its silvestre that might leave i tink...

only 3 points lead now..

not sure why all the main players were asked to rest during the 1st half..

it was away match and i guess they were over confident?

I believe if Man U lost one more game they will still lead the EPL on goal difference.

No lah bro ... one eye on the Champions League which they will have to play next week without the injured Vidic, Neville and suspended Scholes.

No lah bro... won't really consider shocking. More to unfortunate. The winning goal for Pompey was a Rio own goal.

i tink from united's point of view...they will know if they will be champs by the time they visit chelsea...the 2 away games at everton and man city prior to the chelsea trip will be key...the only way united will win the title as i see is if they arrive at chelsea...with at least a 3-point advantage...the main thing is chelsea should not be leading from now till then cuz once they lead...they will go on and win it...

Posted

yup...hopefully we will go through...i just hope in the effort to get that crucial goal...we don't get exploited on the counter or leave spaces at the back...hope van der sar does not fumble and put on a good show...
