ive a few frens who strike big in MLM and is really doing good.

 

they owe fancy vehicles, getting fancy unit(penthouse in 1 case).

 

and de GF is de most pampered GF i ever saw. de guy(MLM) pay for each and every of her single trip, and jus last year, de GF flew to japan, hong kong, dubai and god knows where. when de guy is not in singapore, he transfer money for de GF to use, tell her to take cab instead of bus/mrt when he is not around to ferry her. bought her LV/Gucci/Wadever.

Woah woah woah, another common topic to flame MLM.

 

Firstly, MLM is NOT a Pyramid scheme...

It's two different things. I used to try MLM and sadly its not for me. Its a personal issue thing, I don't believe in selling things I myself don't personally use or don't have enough confidence in selling.

 

And secondly, the topic post seems awkward to me, it should more be like "anyone NOT heard of amway?". It is a half a century old brand.

 

That aside, please don't flame people who do MLM. Just like any other sales, its the method of doing that pisses people off. MLM is legal, its just how the company culture is, if the salespeople do it in such a way, its bad. Its just like insurance. Insurance is perfectly legal, but when you get approached at MRTs and Interchanges about "savings surveys" you walk away.

 

In fact those who do insurance do comment if you wish to, Insurance also like MLM in the way their commissions go through.

 

One thing I wish to educate people about something that I've learnt in MLM, it is the law of averages. Basically in short not everyone succeeds in MLM, and some of those who don't give MLM a bad name.

 

But basically to get on track with the thread, Amway sells good products.

Taking the example of the toothpaste, yes its $10 to $12 bucks, but you only apply about 1/3 or 1/4 as much as normal toothpaste you use. LOL think of it like FC comparision. More expensive fuel but long run better FC.

Changi Road. Next to Great Eastern branch. What MLM is that I shall not reveal just

telling people not to get hopes up.

he also doing mlm.. aproach me at carpark talk abt fuel booster.

he claim sepang guys using his product.

Indonesia cup guys all using his product.usual price $100 now selling $35.

Then say his super4 can win R1 using that product. trying too hard bullshitting.

At home got busa,gilera all using that product.He talk until i also dunno what toking he.

I was like there 2 months back to help my wife settle her mum's purchase of a magnetic mattress (Don't ask me why. Her mum decided to help her niece by purchasing one of this mattress. $1.6K for one? Sigh. But luckily the niece is leaving this job after the O-Level results are out to continue her studies).

 

But I had to do some drastic like Dr House always does: cynicism and sarcasm.

I was leaving this place with my wife and noticed 2 young teens in the lift. We just had a quiet discussion about the actual scientific benefits of such magnetic devices (They don't work, trust me. An MRI machine with magnetic power hundred-folds more barely or don't even affect blood flow as such mattresses or pillows claim. But I digress).

These 2 girls happened to overhear my criticism and seemed poised to move in and try to persuade me otherwise before I launched into my pointy questions: "Is there any independent testing done to prove these devices work? Any medical studies and journals released to verify the devices worked as advertised? Medical boards backing their claims?", all with focusing my attention on chrome bolt that was holding up an ad board in the lift.

 

By the time we exited the lift, the 2 girls were staring at me in a manner that I cannot describe other than, "OMG! Did we join the wrong thing?..."

 

Not saying MLM is necessarily a bad thing. But sometimes you have to open you eyes and ask yourself, "Do they product REALLY work? Sure they're expensive but expensive doesn't mean its good or even works..."

My wife's a member of Best World Living (http://www.bestworld.com.sg/index.htm).

Deals with health products and supplements mostly and they operate on the basis of networking (MLM).

But she doesn't actively seek out customers or 'downlines'. She can't be bothered to. She only wants the discounts when she purchases supplies for her own use and only if acquaintances approach her to ask her about it then she gives a short pep-talk and demo on the items that she can help order on discount.

She treasures friendship and friends above money and revenue.

They can talk the whole day and show you some data...how do i know if these data are real or not? I bet the salesperson dont even know how to interpret the data.

Bro,have u used the pdts before? im using them & in fact, my mum saves a lot on our monthly household expenses cos the pdts are concentrated & last longer compared to the "cheap" detergents in the market. Normal people expect prices 2 be really cheap but in the longer run, X brands dun last as long as these quality pdts. Trust me..I din believe it until we used e pdts. Really good & $$$-saving pdts.

Please dont tell me those entice you into the shops with soy sauce/toliet papers and have a group of people raise their voices to bid for mattresses kinda thing is happening again.

 

They practised that with old people, with have retirement monies, prey on them by offering a listening ear, be a friend and having the group of people bid for things, and surge up the emotions to buy kinda thing.

 

Do advise your old folks, and family members that is not working and too bored at home....to avoid bidding for items they cannot afford.

My 2 cent worth phrase: "People FEAR most is the lack of knowledge."

 

Given an example;

If you see a bright beautiful red flame, would you touch it? (Given the situatuation that you DO NOT KNOW that is a FIRE.)

What if there is someone who tells you that its HOT and will BURN you. Do you just trust him and not touch it or you still go and stretch your hand to touch it?

 

Same principle goes to exploring what you dont know as such 'mlm' business opportunity. They may say things that you could not believe. Hence, you go around asking people of their opinion. So, you may get your answer. But 'What are you going to do?'

 

I'm not going to debate in this issue, but i would love to hear shall there be any comments to my remarks.

I wouldn't do that if I m him....makes me feel like the transaction is done in cash terms....Pamper gf once in a while is good but a good gf will want to earn her own money and stand on her own 2 feet, even if the bf is earning a lot. Living beyond your means is one of the pitfalls of today's world. No money, no honey....
