Urgent! Yishun Ring Rd/Khatib Camp Accident. Appeal for Witnesses

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was involved in an accident just last night on 9th Feb 2009 around 945pm. I was riding a silver Bajaj Pulsar and was knocked down from behind by a SilverCab taxi. The accident happened around the back gate of Khatib Camp along Yishun Ring Road, near Block 785 and 786, heading towards Yishun Ave 3. A few fellow riders slowed down and stopped a distance in front and helped me up and asked if I was alright and asked me to take down photographs of the scene and particulars of the taxi driver. But before I could get these witnesses particulars, they have already gone off after the traffic police and the ambulance arrived. So here I am asking and appealing for these witnesses who was at the scene and helped me out after seeing me on the ground when the accident happened. If i remembered correctly, one of them is riding a blue Super 4 with blue helmet, but yet again, it was dark and I might have been quite traumatised by the incident. Once again, I would like to appeal for these people to contact me as I would like them to help me out with this accident scenario.

I would be available at 97955027 and my name is Alan. Once again, I appreciate the help of those who provided assistance and helped picked up the box and stuff that was scattered along the road. If you know of anyone who stays around the area and rides a bike of class 2A at least, please help me ask around and if they are the ones who helped, give them my contact number and have them contact me. Really appreciate any help here.:pity:

For now, my injuries includes abrasion on my right arm (wrist and elbow area) and a sprained left wrist. Thank goodness that I was wearing gloves and a jacket or I would have suffered more than abrasion and sprains. From the pictures I took of the brake marks by the taxi, the motorshop tells me the taxi driver would have been travelling at least 100km/h for such a long brake mark which stretched from one lamp post to almost the next lamp post. But I am really fortunate to get away with these minor scratches despite the speed.

I am quite anxious about this accident as this is really my first time. I was pressurized by the incident and I guess up until now I am still quite traumatized. Just really hope these people would contact me. And those who have friends living around the Khatib MRT/Khatib Camp/Peiying Pr Sch/Yishun Ring Road stretch towards Yishun Ave 3 or those who passed by the area on the 9th Feb 2009 around 930pm-10pm and witnessed the accident, please ask of them to conact me. Really appreciate all these help. Thx!

Taxi Drivers out there should drive with manners and follow by the rules. Aware that their job scope is hours of driving and meeting passengers requirements but they must not abide the traffic laws. Seen many taxi drivers sped about 110km/hr at expressways and not giving way to other road users mostly in major roads. However "some" of them follow the laws and good manners though.

Observes these almost everyday when going to work. I'm sure if these sole breadwinners are concern in their job, their should run the job well.

idiot taxi driver. good luck in finding witnesses bro.. all the best.

on the other hand, not all taxi drivers are bad. there was once when a cabby was blocking my exit. when he saw me waiting he quickly ran to his cab. then i dropped my glove while sitting on the bike. he helped me pick it up and apologised profusely for blocking my way.. i just said thank you, drive safe and smiled at him. if only all taxi drivers were like him..

Yes I would agree driving a cab would be their way of earning money and the more passenger they pick up the more they earn. But putting other road users at risk, and things like this happen. Can I ask who has met with an accident before and how many was with taxis?

i know there are a few cab drivers out there who still possess humane feelings for other road users but its like lookin for a needle in a haystack these days.. I'm really hoping there is someone out there who can help me.. Is there anyone who can tell me where else can I post this?

Just one question, I went to A&E and they gave me a 2 Days MC. I know that making a police report would need a 3 day MC at least. Now I'm still feeling the after effects of the accident (the sore, the pain) and I would probably need another day or two of MC. Would that mean I have to make a police report if i went ahead and see a doctor and gotten a MC of a day or two? If i went ahead to see the doctor, do i need to go back A&E again? or it is alright to see another doctor from a neighbourhood clinic?

thanks for all your concerns and answers! really appreciate it all. But once again, i would like to appeal for witnesses who was at the accident scene when it happened. Thank alot!

If tp is there then they should be contacting you to make a statement instead why should you need to make a police report.

anyway since your conveyed to hospital via ambulance the 3 days mc is not tat impt.

you should push the IO for your verdict cos the next thing will be the insurance fight with the taxi.

you will stand a good chance if they ruled he is at fault

oh no.. when the ambulance came, i was alright with no pains here or there when they moved me and checked me.. so i din take the ambulance to the hospital.. later into the night i felt pains in my arms and aching so i went to see the doctor at A&E at tan tock seng.. but that was already 4-6 hrs after the incident happened.. the TP told me tt if after i seen the doctor and he gave me a MC of 3 days or more, den i'll have to go down and make the police report myself.. so i'm confused here with what i should do..

oh ya.. can someone help me about the MC thing? i only got a 2 day MC when i headed down to A&E myself.. when the ambulance came, i was okay and din go to the hospital with them.. following into the night i felt pain and aches so went down to the hospital.. and now i still dun feel alright.. so i'm wondering if i need to go back to the same hospital to get a MC or i could just head down to any neighbourhood clinic and get a MC? if i got a 3 day MC, would it matter if i have MCs from two different places or from the same place when i'm making a police report? i'm told i would need to make a police report only if i have a 3day MC..

accumulated mc also counted. just go see doc if u are still unwell. go to lawyer if u wanna claim from the driver for damages and injuries

u need to be young and reckless to become old and wise..... if u survive
