Bro what's FDO? Btw the clutch pads cost so much?

 

I oso wonder why... Ah Wu quoted me that much. FDO = Final Drive Oil

I see, as I went to one of the spare part dealer. The shop quote me $68 for the 5 piece clutch pads. Will be getting it next week togoether with the new belt which total up shldnt be more than $180. And bring it to my mech to install..

Just had a session of Air Screw Synchronisation with "uncle" this afternoon...After using his carbtune, the engine was sync...Went back home pump some petrol....Hmm....currently 24km/h....Hopefully after sync and a clean air filter....Can go slightly more......

Time for some irdium plugs...Cheapest irdium plugs? Anyone have any info...Where to get it? Intend to DIY...

I normally get my iridiums from Weda Enterprise, next to FJT at Rowell Road. Forgot whether it's $15 or $16 each liao...

 

But hor, why change plugs AFTER you synchronised engine?

Cos just saw how "uncle" assess it very simple..So decide to change lo...He mentioned about $24 for 2 DIY...

FJT selling more ex than Weda Enterprise? Can MAB plugs be trusted??

Is 12 each.. Got mine from FJT.. Is the smae model with cb400.

Just came back from Future. Damage to pocket, $368.

 

EO + FDO + EO filter: $83

Transmission cleaning: $45

Clutch pads replaced: $240

 

After service everything was nice and smooth. Then halfway thru journey home, when I move off from standstill have this whistling/screeching sound. Is it normal?

* EO should be about $21~$23 per bottle (maxima extra 10w40)... 3 bottles $63~$69; if you chose the more expensive eo, that's another story :p

* final drive should be using the engine oil from the same 3 bottles

* original honda oil filter about $18~$20

* transmission cleaning about $45

* honda stock clutch pads (5 pegs set) should be around $70~$80... they should not charge you extra for labor since you are already paying for "strip cleaning"

 

thus prices looks reasonable... except for the clutch job. did you change also the bell? else can't be so much.

 

 

screeching sound when moving off from standstill is cause by clutch slippage, usually caused by new/unseasoned clutch pads (needs run in) and oil "particles" on the bell surface. can go back and ask them to check and also try "burn" a little of the pads while on stationary... not too long though :p

iridium plugs... better to stick to either Denso or NGK (cheaper)... both available from LAB.

Thanks for the info. I guess Ah Wu overcharge me for the clutch pegs bah... So can I call Kenny to discuss this? Btw, I didn't change the bell and their workmanship is gd... :)

Was wearing normal underwear and everything ok.

Must be your bike or the seat... hehehe.

So guys after you change iridium...How long does the replacement comes in? I read some forums iridium plugs can last 50000mils?? About 75000km....

Yep, the one I got from FJT is NGK. Haha is genuine de, been using it on my previous CB400 and now on my SW hence no worries! lol haha

Have been using NGK on my CB400 too. Lasted me 2 yrs with 6 months DIY check on the plugs.

Btw anyone ecounter b4 when u r carrying a pillion on ur SW and ran through even a small port hole which which causes something like ur mainstand to bounce and retract back damn hard? The huge bang sound?
