If bike shop service for you previously, then no choice should go back.

Because they usually lock it too tight.

Normally you'll need a Y shaped tool (can DIY... someone here has got the measurement) to secure the variator in place then use a wrench to loosen the nut.

Alternatively, can buy from Autobacs the 12v impact wrench. This it much easier.

The 12V impact wrench is $98 ! Have gotten a torque wrench instead and made the variator tool :)

Hi.. My bike voltmeter show 12v when moving off.. Whhat does it mean?? Becoz normally the voltmeter show 14.2v when moving...

Please help.. Thanks..

dun panic, maybe it's the voltmeter at fault.

get a multimeter n measure the voltage directly from the nodes of battery n see if it's still at 12V if rev up to 3-4k rpm. if voltage doesn't increase with higher rpm, then go get mech to test alternator or magnetic coil output.

Hey guys my 05 JDM SW mileage just turned 63k le! :D

Any transmission parts which i need to beware of? As in the transmission components which likely might wear out at this mileage except for belt, rollers, uclip, clutch and torque spring.

As i believe my transmission components such as pulley plates, clutch pads, bell, torque driver are yet replace which has been using since the day which the bike was produced.

However bike still smooth la :D just tot of treating the bike better :p or any transmission components if i replace will makes the bike more smoother and slightly more powerful? LOL

Just realised my 4 year old is developing a slight leak at the right crankcase cover.

This is how it looked like, with small black oil deposits and a oil-stained exhaust header:

This is how it should look like:

Common problem. Intend to make a gasket instead of using high temp silicone as don't trust my gluing skills.

From my observation, leak occurs at the cables going into the crankcase and not at the gasket.

no one can answer this question bro... not without any tests done.

have you done the necessary tests???

if you don't wanna do the tests yourself, get a mech to do it for you.

i remembered that BS tested my charging system (few years ago) in 2 stages:

* when bike is "cool"

* when bike is hot

i was told by BS mech that my charging was ok when engine is not hot, but magnetic coil's performance deteriorated when it became hot, after having the engine running for some time. this is a sign of partially defective aka about to "die" magnetic coil :p

if there's a problem with your charging system, changing a new battery doesn't help as battery will run flat in no time... drained since no charging occurs.

Perhaps there might be some modification done up in his transmission. Such as after market rollers, pulley or clutch. By nature JDM shld be slight powerful as the ecu mapping of it is different compare to fjs and the exhaust header part is larger as well.
