anyone keen to organise a durian feast trip? LOL

Used to join such trips many years back.

However, ride to Balestier area is easier, better durians and not much diff in total cost.

Durian OIC (arrowed) Mr YZ would probably organise 1 Thursday meeting there in Jun.

Err.. but not on 14 Jun. I'm away in Bangkok.

I used just ride into the durains plantation when I travel to kukup with my friends few years ago. Eat till you drop for 14 people, each pax $9rm...Quite fun if you have a large group of friends. When each durain opened, each one takes one fruit, then next....hahahah

Yup.

So far, final drive oil has been Motul 7100 10W-40 changed every 10kkm due to leftovers from previous servicing. Oil looks like brand new after drained out for the last 2 changes. The Carlube 5W-40 is API SN; even better than Mobil, Shell or Castol at API SM. I will use them on the final drive the next time.

I use to used carlube motorcycle fully syn oil, shred the oil into water within 2000km in my 05R6. Is cheap during that time about $7.50 per bottle. Is worse than my favorite sikloline semi syn which I used it for years as well and cheap and good, $10 per bottle.

But now the usage is just for commuting not high speed riding so normal oil for me is good enough.

I used to think that durian in Malaysia is cheaper, seem that I am wrong.

There are so much durian around, any idea why the price same as singapore ?

Posted

Durian in Malaysia is still cheaper.

Ppl usually organise to Segamat or Pagoh, etc for very good ones.

Add buffet price, petrol and total time taken... then it is quite equivalent.

It is worth if traveling with friends and have big room in tummy.

I'm no fussy eater.

Cheap cheap $5 each I also happy.

But occasionally, go Balestier try the Super Ex type is heaven.

As with all parts that wear and tear, a lot depends on the maintenance regime. But fact that we are not the 1st party in such reports, we won't know how the bile has been maintained or use.

the forum is where we share information and learn from other riders experiences and misfortunes. purpose is to avoid becoming the 1st party of misfortunes which others have already posted/shared in the forum.

imo, we should always look at a product's pros and cons, including other users' good & bad experiences before adopting it... that's prudence.

take the use of gear oil instead of motor oil for final drive as eg. some mechanics and SWingers are sticking to gear oil despite SW service manual's recommendation and other riders bad experiences (posted at tech corner).

if a SWinger, after being aware others' recommendations, still prefers to use gear oil, that's an informed decision he/she has made. so if unfortunately, he/she become a 1st party victim, there's no one to blame but himself/herself.

regardless whether using stock or aftermarket, round rollers or sliding "rollers", wear-n-tear will always be there... question is how much/fast nia.

but of course like uncle said, a poorly maintained bike will likely experience more issues than others.

like i've always advocated...

to each their own ba

For incandescent bulbs, polarity does not matter. But usually small tip is wired to +ve to minimise chances of short circuit.

From the wiring diagram, green is ground. Right +ve is Light Blue and left +ve is Orange. So it's correct.

Hi Everyone ...

Do anyone have any guide price for a SW400 ?

I was quoted $18k OTR. Is the price fair enough ?

And ... is SW-T400 same as FJS400 ?

Both engine are the same however the exterior is different..

There are some more minor changes in SW-T, u might want to look at the comparison in the silverwing tech corner?

18k OTR shld be fair enough :D

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

The older vertical headlights are known as FJS400D8 and before.

The new horizontal twin headlights are FJS400D9 and above, also known as SW-T.

Hope I'm correct. hehe.

O ya MaIkEr gor, forget to inform you about your rear brake lights. The right brake light didn't light up when you apply brakes during the trip. Get it check bah. Cheers

I always have my durian at Da ma Hua Yuan. The stall is located near my usual hair saloon. We can always have our hair wash first before our durian feast. Anyway you always want to know where I wash my hair, I can show you now.
