Like scoobydoo said, ABS is an option and need indent. Don't think shop meant to cheat you. IMO, ABS is a must for heavy maxi-scooter.

I've never faced braking issues even without the ABS.

Only fishtailed in MSCP during first 2 weeks of my 1st SW. Problem was the stock IRC tires. After changed, no more such moments for past few years.

If you are the wheelie, ride-with-1-hand-holding-cigy-with-the-other or corner at 150km/h type then maybe ABS is essential.

Otherwise, the Combined Braking System is good enough for most occasions. Improvements can be achieved through brake hose, pads and disc changes.

Learn slowly arh.

No shame if put leg down like scrambler when turning.

After sometime, you'll get to lean body and throttle through.

1 thing for sure, there's no need for gear change.

I remember my first SW-600 around 10 years back, I went into a smooth cement carpark. It was a wet day, the moment I break ... the whole bike skid and I fell.

Normal road I am not so worry so far, unless wet day high speed.

ABS usually deactivate below the minimum threshold speed. If not how you are going to brake when low speed.

Just imagine at the down slope, you cant stop??? Why, cos your ABS is working and the wheel cant be locked? So there is a minimum threshold speed whereby the ABS will not work. If you ask me, car park slip and fall, ABS cant save you. Only better tires and rider's anticipation can.

The reason I said must have is it makes riding safer and easier, especially for new riders, so that they can focus on the joy of riding rather than the technicalities of heavy braking. When bike is heavy and fast, I think ABS is important. SW is heavy but fast or not depends how you ride it. That having said, I also don't have ABS but I don't go fast :)

Since you rode SW600 before, I think handling should come quite natural for you, ABS or not. Just enjoy the ride since it's coming :)

No need worry lah.

Rainy days I also ride into MSCP at push-bike speed, even with good tires.

Some more I don't follow the wet tracks of the cars. I go by the side.

Lucky my carpark got non-slip flooring at turning points.
