Manual says put 22-28g of grease in the clutch assembly hole that is in contact with this shaft. That is quite a lot of grease. Did a full disassembly and relube of the clutch assembly today.

I thought you would be busy with overseas prep. I followed SW9000 suggestion and gotten myself a 12v impact wrench. Comes with 17mm, 19mm and 21mm sockets for car lugs. Need to get another 23mm socket for the clutch assembly nut. Note these are impact wrench sockets to prevent rounding of the nuts. Now no need to exert ox's strength when loosening anything :thumb:

The discoloration end is the part where the shaft is resting on the belt cover bearing. Check the condition of the bearing in the belt cover. Inspect if it is seize up?

The shaft doesn't rest on the case bearing but rather the clutch assembly rest on the case bearing. It's hard to lube unless you remove the bearing with a bearing puller. Anyone has it?

Dimensions are exactly the same, although the finishing is different. Maybe finishing is also same, just that old one has dis-coloured.

New 22100-MFT-640 is lower of the two:

Use a 10" puller to extract the old bell:

Custom 2 pipes to put back the bell. A 13cm for initial hammering and a 11cm for bolt tightening:

One of the old rubber bumpers for the clutch shoes had given way due to age / fatigue. Bike laid up until re-supply on Mon. Also, old clutch shoes don't move to freely due high friction at pivot pins. These are the small small things that sometimes go unnoticed.

Had my fair share of cuts while DIY. Should have studied engineering last time.

Intend to dismantle the rear shock for a peak.

Hi Uncle, can share where you get this good stuff.

Had been hunting for an impacy wrench but battery operated not practicle. Electric one cannot find.

How's the torque? Should be good enough to remove most scooter nut.

Torque wrench is a must. You must love your scoot very much or you are just a perfectionist.

Autobacs. This is different from normal impact drill that gives many hammers per minute. It spins on "free gear" and at a certain speed, the clutch will engage for an impact. And it repeats the same. This provides enough torque to even open car wheels nuts, where typically need to stand on the car wrench. So scooter no problem. Very good for opening the variator, clutch assembly, even the clutch shoes nuts where there's no grip to use a wrench unless you have a clamp vice. Brand is Jap but made in Taiwan.

Homely Hardware at Eunos is another hardware supplies heaven but so far don't see a similar product.

Thanks Uncle will check it out. If its from autobacs that mean the impact wrench run on cigarette lighter socket - cool!

I'll check it out at Autobacs Bukit batok.

Thanks again :thumb:

Yes, actually the digital torque setting means number of impacts. Not accurate one. Still prefer manual tightening. But loosening ok.

Was at Autobacs

Have 3 models

BAL No.1304 (98Dollars)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/jeryll/1ae2ce6f.jpg

BAL No.1305 (105 Dollars) ï¿¥ 5,670

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/jeryll/6a44fe36.jpg

BAL No.1307 (118 Dollars) ï¿¥ 4,187

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/jeryll/e80e3bef.jpg

Don't know which model to buy.

Heng got internet.

At first i thought the more expensive and latest model/design is a better one.

Did a google and found the 1307 was over price at Autobacs, so bought the Digital one instead.

Hope it's good for tightening

No torque wrench yet :p

Then there's another problem of holding the variator or bell when tightening with a torque wrench.

At last got impact wrench yay!

Disassembling the clutch

DIY a U bracket, together with a long screw and nuts to act as a spring compressor.

OEI you can open shop liao...BTW you interested in doing for a fee. I dont mind I buy 3 in 1 parts and let you do servicing of course for a fee, not asking for free. I can understand the pride of DIYers doing things the right way. Especially the torque wench and torque spec part, whereby many shops dont care, or I say all shops...

BTW the Homely hardware shop got sell good alley keys set? My BONDHUS alley key set after using for 8 years, some of them wear off, like the 8 and 10mm hex key...
