Manual says have this side plate at the clutch shoes but mine don't have. Anyone can verify have or not?

This is actually a superceded part 22361-MCT-000 used in 2003 to 2004 models. Now is replaced by 5 trust washers. I think main reason is cost as it seems to perform better logically by holding the pins in place. Dr Pulley Hit Clutch and Malossi Fly/Delta Clutch have something similar also. Gotta try it!

The Italian got it wrong when he said new clutch bell is thicker. Probably the old bell has worn off. Dimensions are exactly the same, although the finishing is different. Maybe finishing is also same, just that old one has dis-coloured.

My old and new bell at 11.6mm thick at the circumference, vs the Italian's post that his old is 10.1mm. I guess my 08 model is already the upgraded bell :)

BTW the Homely hardware shop got sell good alley keys set? My BONDHUS alley key set after using for 8 years, some of them wear off, like the 8 and 10mm hex key...

Yes, they sell good allen keys and also in loose or bundled. Also have many sizes from small to the very big and long. Saw the biggest wrench that I have ever seen!

the pic was compiled from FSC600 parts catalogue... maybe the 600cc SW are still using.

my 2006 manufactured FJS400D also don't have the side plate.

agree with uncle that honda might have replace it for cost cutting reasons... plate's function is probably to hold the pivot pins firmly in their respective positions as the drive plate spins. maybe that could help reduce the vibrations and thus slippage ("pigeons" effect).

One of the old rubber bumpers for the clutch shoes had given way due to age / fatigue. Bike laid up until re-supply on Mon. Also, old clutch shoes don't move to freely due high friction at pivot pins. These are the small small things that sometimes go unnoticed.

Replaced all 5 clutch rubber dampers 22804-GB2-000 at $16.

Old bell shows more wear on the inside, which is likelyhood due to the flexing of the pivot pins under centrifugal force. The side plate should help.

Hi fellow SWings...it's been many mths since I step into this forum. My SW600 formerly from bro Pythorn....now just a enquiry..my diablo tires are wearing out fine but according to a motorshop,it's starting to bubble unevenly and even I feel un-confident when turning..feels like fish-tailing ..for a 6+yr old SW600,glad to say my mileage is only 18000+km...but hope it can last me all the way till Coe expire.

What tyres recommended for general use??my mileage is extremely low and I'm not into rainy weather riding..Any answers will be most appreciated.thanks a zillion..

Quite normal for the rear tire to be unevenm it happened to my tmax rear tire as well. You can try feel free. But at $90 for rear tire and lasted for at least 12000km. I think nothing bests the diablo.

I usually dont wait for it to be bald before I change tire. Left about 30% i change tire lo or 18 months as the compound maybe be harden. If sport bike I change at least on a per year basis. Sport bike's tires very ex so is easy to sell off as second hand to help those rider who can afford CL2 sport bike but cannot afford the tires. And Cl2 sport bikes eat tires, I tour and track in 2007 and changed 4 sets within a year. Each set $320 ouch......

Once the tire wear off, the profile changes which affect the handling. As tire deteriorate very slowly, usually the rider wont feel anything until he changed the tires.

uneven tyre wearing has nothing to do with age of bike, it happens to every bike, new or old.

nevertheless, a badly maintained bike (e.g. worn out bearings) should experience higher uneven wearing.

lasting till COE expire? why not... as long as you maintain it properly and not abuse it.

low mileage may not mean it'll last, e.g. suppose you don't ride and start engine only once a month, among the first things to go is probably the battery, and tyres harden, and metal parts rusts rusts, and spiders nests nests, and cats wee wee, and dogs poo poo, and many things take the queue too :p

tested and recommended tyres in this SW thread are pirelli diablo scoot and metzeler feel free (costs a little more then diablo).
