Anyone have experience mounting a camera on a bike where u can snap as and when ?

Can camera take the vibration ?

Video better. Shutter / human reaction may not be fast enough for still shots.

I think not a good idea:

A. Air filter must be able to filter down to 10 micron. A human hair is 50 micron. To achieve that, commercial filters have 4 to 6 layers of filters compressed together. Looking at the DIY sponge, can even see the holes. Also, gaps at the sides will even be bigger.

B. Commercial / original filters are folded to have a bigger surface area to maintain high air flow despite the small filter holes. I think if you unfold, it's probably 3 times the length at least.

C. Also need to apply filter oil.

I manage to source for RamAir filter elements from eBay...

image clarity regards to vibration will depends on the setting of the shutter speed of that particular camera.

alterative can try setting lik burst/multiple shots.

u will have a better chance to a fast object.

if looking for camera with good multi shots trying getting those with maximum of frame shot in per 1 sec.

I mounted my Panasonic Lumix FT-2 on my bike before using ram mount. By using the ram mount, and position of where I mounted, the vibration didn't affect my shot. I only took video, never took photo though.

I'm going to assume you are going to take picture when you are slowing down (otherwise it will be extremely dangerous).. Then its fine.

Otherwise, if you traveling at 90km/h, and you want to shoot still scenery... Your shutter have to be very very fast. Around 1/2000...

It's probably only possible under bright daylight, and a pretty good camera with bright lens...

The ZS30 or ZS25 looks more reasonable.

FZ150... carry too long will get injury.

FZ150 not heavy at all..... It's even much lighter than those Pen camera..

There's a very logical explanation. When going to boleh land, you are on "high gear" more of the time, and that translates to better FC.

Erm, part of it is true if I'm cruising more than stopping here and there. However if my cruising speed exceed 130km/hr.. That's when my fc will go much much higher :(

But you'll have no more SW to play with :cheeky:

There's a slight error with this video. Don't grease the shaft before you put the clutch assembly in, as the oil seal on the clutch assembly will push the grease onto the clutch bell, and you'll have higher chance of clutch slippage. Supposed to grease the inside of the clutch assembly before pushing it onto the shaft.

You're right... That was where I was wondering why he did that... He has a lot of different type of lubes he used. And I didn't notice the lubing of rollers by FS when I did transmission cleaning... Btw, SWCI has got very good vidz on youtube. Not all ang moh smart.

The pic above was took using my iPhone, however it was a complete stop hence I can take out my phone to have a quick snap of the bike.. Lol

If u r planning to get a mount for either ur phone or cam u need to consider the angle and the location of the mount which u planning to mount on ur bike. As that will actually determine the exact angle which allows ur camera to snap.

For image capturing or videoing I will advice u to mount the holder to ur brake reservoir as it will have a better clearance for the object ur wish to take as I find the centre mount on our handlebar is too low for capturing a object infront of u due to the obstruction of the meters and windshield.

To add on, the main benefit on scooter which i fall for is that u can simply go easy on one hand for moving off, cruising, short cornering and handling!

Haha texting or setting ur gps is always isn't any issue while riding on scooter :D
