most motortiams are washing down the transmission area using petrol, even ah choong does that.

 

some mechs took extra step by washing and scrubbing the variator plates with detergents (e.g. gif) before blow drying them... some bikers like that while some don't, up to individual lor :p

 

remember to lightly grease the rollers, ramps and moving parts before re-mounting the pieces back.

Petrol wash wash the metal parts are ok bah.

Just don't let it get to the seals, plastics and paints etc.

Not the rollars, uclips and ramps. Grease bearings and drive shafts.

Good Friday Malacca 2D1N Ride

 

Date: Friday, 29 Mar 13 (1 night)

Hotel: Baba House

Room cost: rm157.76 (Booking.com = 3 rooms left. Agoda = 5 rooms)

Please book your own room. Share if you can find buddy.

 

Itinerary:

1. Meet 8am, JB Shell.

2. Go Kota Tinggi Bah Kut Teh (9am-10am).

3. Ride to Malacca (via E22). Check in Hotel 1.15pm.

4. Chicken Rice Lunch? Go shopping, movie then night market then Pub?

 

Next day, on way back:

1. Detour to Jasin Hot Spring (entrance rm6).

2. Tangkak Beef Noodle lunch.

3. Bukit Indah Shopping.

 

Going:

1. Atlantic 200 (Twin Room booked)

2. sw9000 (Single)

Where got endurance ride? Take bike ride to genting n back dan do servicing lo. My mileage till now 1.4k n coil Chui. Sian 1/2

 

Even my previous BMW or stx also such daiji. Haizzzzz

Any idea what EO are you using..?

 

i took my bike i straight changed my EO to 10w 30 300v. dan ride to genting. after that go back to boon siew change oil. Boon siew changed for me 10w 50.

 

i went to change back 10w 40 300v again.

cause must maintain below 5k rpm le i read from tech corner......

 

to and fro i almost died of boredom.

 

oh ya my gear oil also using 10w 40 300v -_-

Anyway ... u are not alone .. and at least warranty covered. Just suay to go without bike for few days.

Or maybe ur bike not shiok that u going malaysia without him ... haha ..

can be done 1..... me n wifey were singing and talking alot on the trip to genting.... i'm just dam fed up new bike coil spoil. wah lau really 1 kind lor...... haiz......

Wow, looks like I should follow your method to run-in. At least any potential defects can surface asap rather than wait until warranty runs out :thumb:

10W30 too thin for long dist ride, yah?

The number at the back should follow the average environment temp. In SG/Malaysia... should use 40.

 

Then again, the coil got difference between the old and new. New coils got thicker insulating coat.

Your bike may be installed with the old type during manufacturing?

Since have warranty, everything should be free. However, beware the workmanship in sealing up the casing. They failed on many occasion and our kakis have to re-seal it at other motortiam.
