Lembing is a nice a quiet town. Been there with John and James and taken photos over the suspension bridge over the river.

Got 1 small mountain (hill?) but good for only early morning hiking exercises.

They said Rainbow waterfall is nice but I've never been there. Must hire their 4-wheel drive trunks to go there and the walk is uneven and long. Don't think my foot can take it so never organised. Encik Pat's group normally makes yearly trip there.

Encik pat's group harder to catch up right?

His group also can't go fast on trunk roads. Still reasonable speed.

But he usually will stay at a resort in SG Lembing, nearer to nature.

Oic trunk not a problem. More worried about the potholes on the trunk road. Also safety is an issue if there is a big group hehehe.

the speciality fresh shrimp won ton noodle (Soup) is highly recommended. as usual, i had the yuan yang (coffee and tea mix) and it's pretty good.

Thanks for recommendation. Tried their Pork Chop Pumkin Rice. Good. Apparently roasted stuffs are their specialities as all sold out by 2pm. Unlimited refills for tea and coffee drinks :)

Yo just a word of caution,

Ive been using this tire for a few months.

For all its stickiness and good road holding, the side wall is very thin.

So thin I cannot believe its a tubeless tire.

Some folks had ask for opinion of this tire previously and I kinda

regret recommending it cos I did not have the experience I now have with a puncture.

It could be very dangerous.

I am moving towards changing to diablo next month.

What kind of puncture? Any pics? Have you feedback to Heidenau SG about this?

Anyone here know where can I programme sliverwing key?? Got one spare to programme, just programme only.

BS charges $40+GST. A shop recommended by the key shop besides Regina wanted to charge me $30. End up I made my own cable and programmed it myself. Other bros may have cheap sources.

Just a small nail at the centre. Once puncture, it goes totally flat and the bead came off the rim almost instantly.

I did not even have a chance to wriggle it few meter to road side. Had to call tow.

Have you used diablo before and take a look and compare the k66 wall when they install it for you?

After you use a few months, the tire thread pattern (aka tile-like) will wear a bit and when u push bike

will feel the bike go limping like there's a puncture feel...i guess its normal but just feel weird.

I am in the midst of reading up tire options now....any input appreciated.

p/s: sorry no pix of the puncture but when I do find my next tire brand,

I would like to simulate the same puncture again on the k66

Sounds like either the carcass ply or side wall not rigid enuf. Have heard steel carcass tires more resistance to puncture n retains their shape better though are heavier. Maybe you can research further.

some info on tyres have been compiled at tech corner posts 21, 22, 38, 46, 47

just a point to highlight...

try not to believe manufacturers' claims that their this-n-that compound can provide both excellent grip and excellent durability at the same time... just marketing talk cos they're most likely selling the intermediate compound tyres.

until such day when tyre technologies leapfrog those that are currently use in F1 races, fact is that that 2 are in a trade off relationship. for that same reason the F1 cars have to change between supersoft to hard tyres to suit different road conditions.

The Honda Silver Wing Scooter FJS/JDM/SWT/GT 400cc/600cc uses tyres with specs:

  • Front 120/80 14M/C 58S
  • Rear 150/70 13M/C 64S

Refer to post #21 “Tyre Markings” for what those numbers mean.

Commonly used tyres for the Honda Silver Wing scooter are:

Among them, the Pirelli Diablo Scooter is the most popular among our group of SW kakis. This is mainly due to its competitive pricing (about $175 a pair including installation) and good balance of traction vs. durability. Note that softer compound tyres provide better traction but wear out at faster rates, thus a trade-off exists.

Thanks Scooby, very diligently reading the infos.

I look see michelin powerpure too, about $270/pair

Bottom line for me...Still cannot accept the tubeless tire dislodge from the the rim just like that.o_O

It is too dangerous especially when bike is in motion and there is also no way I can fix the puncture on spot

Imagine touring halfway kannar this!

Have you seen this:

There a youtube video of ride-on-tire proection where the bike basically ride over some big nails and

the seal system works.

I think there a guy from sbf (simon something) mention it in one of his motoblog..
