Very hard to spot another tmax on the road. Even my wife asked me, why so difficult to see another one riding along. :)

 

u can organise one tmax outing and she'll get to see quite a fair bit of tmaxes ard! :cheeky::cheeky:

is the tmax 530 timing chain or timing belt?

 

Most motorcycle engines use timing chains for the CAM, except for HD.

 

If you are referring to the drive belt, Tmax 530 uses 2.

No i know the final drive is belt, i meant the timing chains, where the cams, pistons move in tandem.

I believe it's chain driven.

 

Talking about timing chain, don't know whether I'm hearing things or what, but in the mornings when I start up the bike I can hear a faint clicking sound from the right side of the bike. Not sure whether it's the transmission or the timing chain..

That, is by timing chain.

 

I believe it's chain driven.

Timing chain is good, life long maintenance free, as long as 100,000 km then need to adjust.

I've heard that these stuff make your max accelerate like there's no tomorrow but the rollers don't last as long as stock ones? Sorry very new to the world of belts and rollers :)

But there are no rollers in a J Costa variator.. Of course there are pros and cons to every mod. But once you've tried a J Costa, you won't go back!

nope... install and run! I'm loving mine...

Just bought a matt color TMAX 530 from bike production.. Wan to change the windshield to tinted color n metal foot padding.. Any lobang guys?

 

Bought the 12v socket from hong leong this morning, any place to install?

How much did you pay for the socket? Last I saw at hong Leong its 80 bucks.. For mine I DIYed myself.

 

Anyway you got to drill a hole in the right hand compartment for the OEM socket. The harness is near the right hand front signal light.

I can't remember, cos I did it together with other stuff like alarm and all that. Anyway I didn't get the one from hong leong. If I have time I'll upload a picture of what I did. :)
