Hello, do you have the intention of upgrading? If YES, should get a 2nd hand X-1R. Whereas shop wise... hmmmm not much of recommendation, you can try Bike Production... no hurry ask around first for the price then go round compare here n there. If you have doubt in pricing you can post it here, procedure on getting the bike and what are the fees you have to borne etc...

 

I don't plan to upgrade. I plan to use it as a transport to school. I like X1R mainly because of its looks and FC. hmm. ok. shall look around.

Yup looks is neat, FC is good... overall good workhorse! So far its trouble free... going well! I like 2008 model, better color theme... =)

does anyone of you who have the Yamaha original footrest and have problems applying the rear brake? like there's a lack of feel when braking.

its normal dude its normal, rear is operate in SSBH (Stainless Steel Braided Hose) its quite "jiak" so no issue.

 

You can try park ur bike in main stand, u rotate ur rear wheel n try the rear brake lever... its quite effective in braking.

do what u have been doing all the time - the driving centres' timing is 1-2s shorter/ longer than actual TP test anyway, so just do as per normal can riaoz.

 

sleep more night b4 else u will fall asleep waiting. like for my 2A like that end up lost concentration and down plank else 8 pts pass riaoz .

 

PS: not to act "seh" coz talking abt failure is actually hard. just sharing hope u can avoid unnecessary stuff unlike me. Still cant forgive myself for failing coz Ning Nong Piang really is can pass easily wan lor.

juz sent for servicing? maybe the mech hands oily! serious wor, when i changed my tires that's wat happened, for 30mins like brake cannot makan like that. then following day ok riaoz coz i did lots of braking (safely) and "wear off" the oil.

sadly the rear brake caliper in an awkward position, hard to check the brake pad... OK I saw Bike Werk mech they will use newspapers so that their oily hands wouldn't come in contact with the bike chassis.

hi all. I have been reading this thread for quite some time. I wants to get a X1R!!! damn nice bike. Hope i can pass my TP next thursday. I know this question have been asked b4. But can anyone recommend me a good place to get a first hand X1R?

 

Buy bike cannot gan jiong 1... slowly ask around 1st before putting the down payment. And ask properly if there is any hidden cost...

x1r is a very good bike but there are some things it cant do - like fly @ 180kph, unless u zhng until dung noe like what. even then, it's not as stable coz really too light.

 

that's when backside gets itchier!

Date: 18/7/2009 Saturday

 

Time: 2100hrs or Earlier ... (U'll know later ! heh hehh ...)

 

Venue: Marina Barriadge ! --> 520 East Coast Road --> Jurong Hill --> Clememti Road --> Upper Seletar Reservoir --> Sembawang Road --> Home Sweet Home !

 

Riding Speed: 90 +- kmh as of X1-R Speedometer ...

 

ok. let me introduce why this itinery k !

 

1) Marina Barriadge (Meeting Place) NDP 2009 NE Preview will be held on this date, whoever wants to see the FIREWORKS, this will be a great place to avoid the massive crowds and major road closures! Moreover, you can pose your bike to take pictures with the 'Reservoir in the City'. Hence, I would proposed to be there at between 8.30pm to 9pm to catch the FireWorks!

 

2) After that, we will head to 520 East Coast Road for an Ice Cream Feast named the 'Ice Cream Chef' ! They are opened till 11pm on Saturday, so Rest assure you'll get it as long as you bring enough cash ! hahaha ...

3) Then, we will head to Jurong Hill via AYE to chill out and relax, looking at the Giantic causeway and lights litted up towards Jurong Island and cool breeze on your face, it is one of the best place for couples, you and ur bike! Moreover, you will explore some cars shaking unknowingly ! kekeke ...

 

4) If there are ample time, we will then head to Clementi Road, not to sway the 99 corners, but to enjoy the Famous Niqqi's Cheese Plata Shop located at the end of Clementi Road to fill your stomach ! 24hrs ...

5) Last but not Least, we will be going to Upper Seletar Reservoir, located along Mandai Road, near to Mandai Crematorium .. hehe ... for some chilling and relax and digestion, TCSS, take photo, etc.. whatever you named it ..

 

6) Lastly, we will head to Sembawang Road, another chill out place? NO! you can choose either Caltex on your left or Shell on your right. YOU'RE FILLED with PLATA! BUT your bike must be filled with Petrol, if not pityful leh ...

 

7) HOME SWEET HOME - no Elaborations Needed.

 

This outing is just a pure gathering for X1-R / Sparkz riders and newbies to mingle and know each other.

 

As we have encountered some Police Operations the last outing, we will foresee there will no such operations on the coming one. However, please prepare your insurance and license for necessary checking if (SUAY SUAY) kena.

 

Bo Bi Ti Gong wont rain on that day too !

 

IF the group happen to be too big, we will split into two groups divided respectively, I'll appoint another Pointer if necessary...
