hi all,

tp's in 2 weeks, looking forward to getting an x1r asap for commuting

anyone can list the major pros/cons of this bike?

and is there anyway to mod for the performance without making the exhaust too loud?

i dowan to attract too much attention for such a small bike hahaha..

look forward to friendly helpful advise from all :)

Cons: bike is super boring fully stock. change pipes for louder sound and better performance. if you dont want to attract too much attention, stick to stock. even a different paintwork can attract attention. so the choice is up to you. if you wana mod for performance, stock pipe would not be useful unless you mod it as well like mine (previous owner did it)

Pros: bike fully stock is a good way of getting round with good fuel consumption. cant think of any other pros coz it differs with different riders.

all in all, get what you want, do what you want with the bike. of course, just beware of your public enemy on the road a.k.a Traffic Police HAHAHAHAHA

good luck with your TP. when you get your license, don't forget that your life is more important than anything else. CHEERS

may i suggest:

1) try not to have the mindset of getting ASAP, coz likely u'll get chopped, horribly, with nothing left..

2) be clear what u want from this bike.

- If u want raw power, this bike will disappoint u, unless u zhng until no tml. in which case, u might do better in buying a diff bike to begin with.

3) the major pros for this bike is Excellent fuel economy at reasonably good pickup and top speeds with energetic and youthful outlook and 2 disc brakes (safety - 1 front 1 rear)

so if u go and zhng until very good pick up and very good speed, there will not be excellent fuel economy any more, nor will the 2 disc brakes be enough to brake safely should u really go THAT fast.

4) major cons is trembling of handlebar at about 50-60kph on gear 3/4 (seems pretty common to me), and too light, thus "not so stable" at high speeds of > 140 (never went faster on this bike b4)

so if u INSIST on zhng-ing for top speeds, u'll be pushing the stability at high speeds to the fine edge (Ever wonder how bikers can "lose control" of bikes?)

5) Bottom line, ask yourself what you want from your bike(s), if you are clear, it will be meaningful. Before you zhng here zhng there, perhaps it'll be good to ride around stock for a couple of months, for running in and to be sure if you really need to zhng it.

hey i got a question again.

how to tell that our battery life is dying ? issit when the headlamp light's brightness get dimmer or issit when some of the lightings stop working ?

cause recently i fixed a airhorn to my bike and at the start, the airhorn work quite well, but after awhile, sometimes the airhorn is not working and now the right side of my headlamp is not working. i doubt that the bulb is blown because sometimes it light up but sometimes it doesnt.

most probably due to the electric connection right?
