my friend did mention that he need to top up the engine oil from time to time replenishing some lost oil which might help in his long OCI.

Ahh thats my only concern, whether the EO can last up to 5000km without drying up, which wasnt mentioned before.

Topping up of EO already makes the experiment improper and unfair with or without UOA. But that is in my POV. Its up to individual whether they want to spend more on oil or parts. I would go for the former but that is just me.

Lets say you plan to change EO every 2000km, at 1500km you realised your EO level has dipped & you top up accordingly, still change when it reaches 2000km.

My other opinion is that its best you change regularly so in case there are metal fragments in the EO due to wear & tear, it gets cleared out early before it does more damage to the engine.

Is best to check weekly wif the dip stick. Just when u about to start riding for the day.. if low just top up abit. If not one fine day you will need to spend $600+ to do yr piston and block when not enough engine oil is provided for yr engine. Esp those tat are heavy throttleR

i won't see it that way. UOA is not about fair or unfair. it about knowing whether the oil is still suitable for running. there are diesel truck owners fixing a bypass filter and running without oil change for more then 100,000km with just topping up the lost oil. in the long run, they save good money.

of course in the context of a small bike, it don't really make that much of economic sense to do it. a thousand or two dollars save over the life time of a bike is nothing to shout about.

Yes can be done. Just need to relocate your brake pump & brake switch. Price wise you will need to go to shops & ask as i did mine in JB.

Hmm the standard footrest with rear disc brakes will do because if you wanna convert back to rear drum brake, you gonna need to fork out more money to change the rims & so on. To sell your items at the Spankers FB page, you will need to click on the MESSAGE icon at the page. Include pictures, price & your contact number & we'll help you post it up.

Guys do u know how much is it roughly to make my forks "harder" now it is bottom-ing out during hard braking. These are new pair of forks from a claim but the compression sucks so bad. Hoping to be able to lower my fork too after "hardening" them.

You might need a new brakeline as previously your brake pump was located on the racing footrest, which is much nearer to the brake caliper. Now if convert to stock footrest, the pump will have to be located somwhere else slightly further. Ask the mech to show you so that you will understand what he meant.

To convert back to stock footrest, all you need is:

-stock pillion footrest

-stock rider footrest

-side stand

-spring for side stand

-rear brake pedal

-spring for rear brake pedal

-spring for rear brake light switch

-stock gear lever

-longer rear brake hose

You do not need a bracket for the pump as it can be drilled onto the frame of the bike nicely. Will only cost you two very small holes. The mech will have to be creative to place the pump nicely. Most mechs are lazy and will suggest you to get the bracket.

Just ask around the mechanics should know. Even with pics if the mechanics does not want to do it they will simply say they do not know or cannot.

Take note where the brake pump is located. High chance your mech will say he cant do it and needs a bracket because he knows he needs to remove the swingarm and its leceh. Tell him to quit his job as he's not skilled enough.
