Their mechs are ok, only asked for Meng during my time there, quite reliable and most of the time gives me advise but never do hardcore selling to me..maybe cos we can get along la..

Buying bikes from them not really good experience la coz they are not willing to help or rather give advise to me when i was looking for a M400 and some class 2 bike back then..so never bought from them in the end cos of their customer service ethics la...but by far they do have quite a supporters though...

The same type of thread repeating itself again!!!!

Different ppl have different ideas and taste. I don't think there is any bike shop in singapore that can satisfy all! Some would prefer to go HKL, some Motor factor, Bikewerks, Sanfu, looi, Mah, motorworld.... There are bound to be bad or unpleasant things happenning in every one of these shop!

So Bro Sigea, i suggest you just follow your close group of riding Kakis... Visit the shop that they often patron. In this way, the meachanics will treat u nicer and everyone will feel like part of the family. There is no point for you to find out more from here, cos i can assure you that you will only see more negative posts than positive posts. Thats human nature. Ppl tend to remember the bad experiences much more clearly than the norm and the good ones!

It's also the buyers responsibilites to check and do ur homework first before you purchase any thing from anywhere. So stop crying over spilled milk.

Agreed. No shop can please all customers and it is unfortunate that the unhappy customers will remember their experience better and the happy ones will happily continue to patronise.

As for Excel, I don't know much but their website is definitely among the better ones of Singapore bike shops. If you're the sort who just likes looking at pictures in the comfort of home its quite ideal.

Kelvin , I am surprise that the nice admin lady you mentioned could be the lady boss , I doubt a lady of her stature could be saying such language, & also that you could hear what the other party is saying , I am sure many customers have in their time missed out payments , I think the lady will be very busy uttering profanites all day long in a crisis crunch- but I think seriously this thread is quite unfair , bikers can throw brickbats at the bike shops etc....but they can't really defend the accusations !!! how do we know it is true ? I thot the best avenue for such is CASE if you think you got a raw deal , a second hand bike is covered under Sale & Goods Act , you know your rights , but to say a nice lady saying & uttering such language is dangerous area as you may defaming the modesty of a lady, she could be scolding her friends etc......Buying 2nd hand goods is something that we take a risk - we should excercise some caution - bring your own mechanic etc...to check the goods, but I can say generally older bikes can fail at anytime , one would not be able to gauge but I am sure there many other satisfied customers that keeps this company going for so many years !!! I do not think a shop doing business will buy a lemon & try to sell them , they will not last more than 12 years !!!!

I bought 6 bikes for the past 7 yrs from excel and I never had any problems with them

I get straight answer from question ask and not those that bit around the bush type.

I agree that not every shop can serve or please every customer, some good and some bad.

There are so many bike shops in sing, if every now and then one is being mention on air then soon there wont be any left to spare.

Do a little home-work search only to remember that comments are a just a guide line, what one's experience may varies from others.

For me experience oneself is still the best solution.

Thats my 2 cents

ps : :sorry: but I had a doubt  and agree with SMOKEYPIPE that the nice lady boss (if that is her being mention) could be saying those xxx language.
