Anyone wondered how it is used & where it goes?

This is not only about SPF (TP) but other organizations which "serve the public".

It technically goes into the Ministry of Finance coffers. Which are consolidated, as above mentioned, to fund other public salaries/campaigns/events.

Nope... you're wrong because I have already checked with MOF. They refered me to TP. TP has yet to reply for months. I'm pushing for a reply now.

Which MOF officer says that? What number you called, and which department in TP were you referred to call?

And since you suggest that MOF suggest that TP kept the money for their own campaigns.....I wonder what happened to the monies collected in Sub Courts too.

I have never suggested that MOF suggest that TP keep the money for their own campaigns.

Maybe you wanna check with the QSM of MOF & SPF to really find out. QSM MOF is the one who refered me to QSM SPF who then refered me to TP.

I don't know what they are doing. Maybe I am asking the wrong people. Seems people here in the forum know better than than MOF & SPF. What great public service we have. :thumb:

So was there a black and white about that question. Or you called?

Since you believed what you heard, then we really will love your public spirit to ask questions that will tell us how corrupt our public service are.

But until we got the you say, he says, she said confirmed. What are we? Public that had knowledge of how things are done, but since MOF confirmed otherwise on the phone with you.

Do go ahead and prove us wrong. I have no qualms apologising if what I know is wrong.

I never stated anywhere in my post that I never believed what I heard and I never stated that the public service is corrupt. You seem to deduce that. If what you said were true, CPIB would be taking action against TP or whatever organization which is corrupt.

All I wanted to know is how the fines are used and where they go to. Short & simple.

Did I ever say I contacted MOF on the phone? My channel of contact was never revealed in this post. An assumption yet again?

I never asked for an apology from you or anyone.

I just felt it's important that we know where our money goes as we all have paid fines to some public body.

You can get the rough details of the the fines from revenues here: http://www.singaporebudget.gov.sg/revenue_expenditure/toc.html

But the above data is certainly not clear or direct enough to make me really understand what really happens to my fine once you or I pay.

This is nothing related to public spirit as well.

So there you go... hope it clears it up.

Maybe if someone from TP reads this, maybe please you can get in touch with your "quality service manager" to look at this and reply to me officially. Reply offcially means not though this post. But through the offcial contact channels.

Since its not a public spirited request for answers.

Guess even the public is not keen to know who is asking this question.

Good Luck TS. If you really felt that everyone, including anyone of this forum, should be doing your legwork to ask their quality services manager on the above. You really are looking to ride on the coat tails of everyone......which frankly, is fairly obvious to everyone, you are no one that deserve a answer.

Does it need to be a public spirited to deserve an answer? I don't think so. When as an individual I pay a fine, isn't it a right for me to know to know where or how it is used for? If it is otherwise, is there a reason why I should not know?

Do you really know who I am to state that I am a no one? Saying that I am a no one is yet another assumption. No idea how you can come up with that. I think you should understand that as a mature individual that calling people a "no one" is child's play and only hurts people.

Anyway, I might understand why you are very defensive. As someone inside the organization, it is natural to be defensive of the organization to uphold it's name. I respect that.

Frankly, maybe you're right, the public is not keen to know. I will end this here and not share the information if I do get it.

Assumtion goes both way dearie.

Since you assume that someone within the organisation, giving you an answer, which you posted annoymonously on a forum..........should be assumed to be on the inside.

And its obvious you already assumed that the someone should do the legwork for you, preferably someone on the inside......but so far, you have demanded that others reply to you on official channel.....but you are?

Just another disgruntled fella, who tells everyone here he got the information from MOF, with no proof of which idiot he wrote to, that gave him such a interesting answer to refer to TP.......

Goes to show you arent really that about to tell others who you are, except to assume we really want to know.

But hey......when people assume, and dont know how to be a man to accept that he is living in Singapore, enjoying Singapore safety or at least the Roads that actually leads to everywhere..............what else you expect any agency to respond? You pay enough fines to finance a 3rd world country yet?

I am a motorist on the road, a Singaporean who pays taxes, a person who meets TP everyday on the road doing their job, a person worrying about the recession and if I can pay for my installments (bike, car, house) and many more.

Who do you want me to be? Only the "big guns" can ask questions affecting common people like myself?

Well, since you are refusing to share....

Then lets let it stand, that TP fines goes into Ministry of Finance Coffers, that is then redistributed to other agencies, to pay salaries, pay for budgets for various departments, that does PR, campaigns, repairs of roads & maintanance of your safety and your convenience in the use of Singapore Roads, Living Quarters, Safety & your children's ability to go out and not return back home till 4am in the morning, safe and maybe just slightly drunk......

Otherwise, you really should check out how Thailand police & the Malaysian police deals with the 'fines'.

I think the answer is. Since you are no big guns to ask questions that have been answered so many times before......

Whats the big deal of asking so much which you cannot change/control or adjust?

You want officials to answer you, but are you officious enough to receive a reply instead of posting here?

Don't you think it's getting too personel? Whatever you can think of... I don't care already because it's getting out of point.

welcome to real life ganman.

since you are some big shot, which you assume that I should consider that factor....

then, yah.......getting out of point, because you wanted to argue about the fact that the fines goes into a consolidated fund.

And you demanded to be answered by any TP QSM.....is sticking to topic?

So how is it? You didnt call the MOF. So where is the letter/email/sms that was written to you that tells you to check with TP QSM? I dont need the content. Just the reference number will do. We can always check for you who was that moron that tells you to contact TP for an answer.

You wasting my time right? Interesting to "argue" with you.

I have met you before at someplace called Alpha many years back, I think we shall stop here based on the fact that I know who are are and you don't really know who I am. Hope we can come to an agreement.

You can PM me if you want more details.

I am not taking it lightly that you would call people "idiots" or "morons". But that's another matter. I am not going to take it personally.

I've informed my new found knowledge that "It technically goes into the Ministry of Finance coffers. Which are consolidated, as above mentioned, to fund other public salaries/campaigns/events." to MOF and now awaiting their reply. I've also forwarded them a copy of this thread and also have seeked their permission to share with everyone the actual facts.... that is if they know.
