China $100+. Mounted on my bike will see if it will last!

 

So far had to buy M6 nuts (size 10 spanner) and washer X 3 (cost 30 cents) for the mount. Original used size 8. Swop my old top cover with the broken one.

 

The RPM meter so far not much different, off maybe 100-150 rpm from the original. Speedo also off by 5-8 kpm.

 

All indicator lights works, LCD (trip, fuel etc).

 

Now heavy rain later will see it it will still work after the rain.

 

Original from boon siew 490+. But quality and finishing of course boon siew better.

Can post a picture so can see the damage? If it is the silver cover can order from boon siew(BS) (normal freight take 6 months, cost about $70+-) if it is the clear cover over the meter sorry BS cannot order for you (i have tried, even give them the part number confirmed by Mr Neo and Thomas from BS). Can order from UK but the freight plus part will cost over 150 pounds. US does not have this model.

 

The meter from china is the new model type (07/08 model) where as mind was the old model.

 

Just now tried to on the meter (after heavy rain) it was ok.(touch wood)

You can order the silver cover from boon siew(BS). I will give you the part number as boon siew does not have it. There are two or more types of part catalog, the one that BS has, you have to change the whole meter. That's why you will need the part number as BS had ordered this item before, that part number is in their computer system. If you are worried that it is the wrong part number, pls PM me your email and i will send the PDF file to you.

 

Please note that both the china and BS, does not come with the honda emblem(on the bottom right of the silver meter)

Mine 2nd hand...did top overhaul n few mths later did overhaul...this was end of September...1 wk later the noise came back...i regret I didn't change the con rod n piston

 

Nw the noise even worse...so c how next yr...Plan A deregister bike...Plan B haven't tot of any at the moment

Mine also bought second hand just changed timing chain and one of the timing chain guide. So far so good.

Sad to hear about the engine. If the repairs is going to be too much then it should not be worth repairing but if you want to keep it for long term, can consider to do it up. But and that is if you can/will keep for long term.

The thing is I hav a vespa tt I will scrap nex yr n I will retain the number...so I need a new bike...whence I get the new one...no point holding on to the twister n worse can really sell the bike with it's condition...if no vespa to scrap I'll use the 250 till Coe finis liao

My rack was given free by the bike shop, it's the tie on type (mounted on rear back passenger grab handle rail) if you want a nicer one can custom make the rack at seng kwang or other hot works shop (but this option will be costly) As for crash bar i don't have it so cannot comment.

Last resort all u need is $$$$ and go seng kwang to fab one for u
