Hi guys

I'm currently doing some homework before settling for a ride, it would help if you folks can help me on some issues.

1) as titled in the header, what are the pros and cons between European and Japanese made scooters (pricing, performance, parts, reliability etc)

2) i have an eye on the Vespa S and the Yamaha Vino, any idea if the local dealers here will be bringing them in?

I riding a Piaggio X9 EVO. :cheeky:

Given a chance to repick, I will take a runner Gilera 4stroke or a honda wave equivilent if not a super 4.

The more I think of it, the more I hate you.

Watch out for when you buy bike with "Hot Favorite parts" like Super 4's Rear Showa Shock, X9's brembo brakes, blah blah blah. If its bolt on, it is removable in 10 sec or less.

The more I think of it, the more I hate you.

I dun think Jap bikes are cheapr now, they have all gone up by almost 20-30% due Yen's zooming rates

reliability and repair/maintenance costs are very important factors to consider... you don't wanna buy a bike that visits the workshops regularly or costs a bomb to repair.

japanese makes outperform european makes in terms of availability and price of spare parts :p
