i need help urgently for my nsr 150sp.

 

wenever i slow down, let's sae from 80 to 10, the engine dies.

all my lights n engine just turn off.

always occurs wenever i slow down while changin to lower gears.

din let go of clutch at all.

might occur also wen i stop at junctions or turns.

 

went to mech sae my battery n rectifier either weak or overcharge.

went back to shop i bought from, they change the battery to new one.

 

but a day later, the problem came back.

WHY AR?

 

just bought this sp a few days ago from yew heng motors at ubi.

i bought 2 bikes from there n if i have a prob, i will go back there when i juz got out the bike.. =)

i tink its all depending on the ex-owner which rodes the sp..

i got an sp which didnt give me much of a prob..

n got my rvf there too.. =)

went back twice redi...

1st time he just rechrge battery and corrected some wirings..

d 2nd time one of the mechs go test ride quite long..

then sae battry weak then he change new one..

but problem still persist lehh...

 

 

anyting to do with engine not?

cuz i went to the mechs at spc at pasir ris there..

d first thing he sae engine sound quite bad redi..

the rectifier might be overcharged..

headache sia..

There also another thing that acutually charge your battery.. Not the coil nor the rectifier.. That time when riding my fren sp oso like that.. Charged up the battery.. everything ok but after parking for few hrs the same thing happen.. 1 more thing it is very hard to start unless u apply some throttle.. apparently i suggest u to go back to the shop.. they should be the one who should be liable of. dun scare being a thick skin or wad.. it the bike tat matters.. u definitely wun wan to have ur bike breakdown i future in the middle of the road rite?

yeaa, simmz got the description quite right...

sometimes hard to start also, i just use choke...xian leh kickstrt hard oso cant start..

 

anyways, any idea where the problem exactly lies in? as in why it keeps dying..

I can't really recall wad tat thing call.. dunno izit called charging relay or something else.. It has something to do with ur battery charging.. It is not the magnetic coil or the rectifier.. So basically its like ur battery can't charge properly.. if u off ur light, perhaps still able to maintain the idling for a while.. if u turn on light straight away die off rite? had this experience b4 too..

bike still under 1 mnth gurantee, so i guess i go back to the shop ar..

thanks simmz...wld cutting off 1 of the headlights help? and just use 1 of the two headlights?

or if i increase my idle speed to about 1500 rpm?

carb settings? spark plug? wiring? wiring done poorly will result in short circuit causing power to cut off.. horn fail, headlight fail, signal light fail or worst case engine off.

if a new battery is relpaced and same problems occur..

and is charging problem..

change ur bouncer + coil + rectifier

 

how old is ur bike..

suggest u to change a full wiring harness if ur plate is quite old

might be CDI prob also..

change batt ... change bouncer coil rectifier still got wierd charging problems.

batt goes weak after 3 or 4 days of riding(after changing new batt)

was solved after i changed a wiring harness..

 

EVEN IF after the electricals are changed and ur engine still dies when u go up 80 till 100..

confirm ur CDI..

(assuming ur engine and carb has no probs)

To define the the problem, please get a trusted mechanic(doctor) to diagnose your bike.

Cutting the wire would not help. Right now the only way you can do is untill turn on ur head lite when the bike is moving.. And switch off when u are in traffic junction, if not u will have to constantly rev up ur bike inorder to prevent it from dying off..

bro, try to changes your rectifier.

this happen to my friend bike also.

when your idling speed around 2k, the bike goes weak and eventually the engine cut off right? and you try to kick start again, the bike dont seem to start at all. pull chok.e also no use. you let the bike rest awhile. after that it start again. then when riding, the problem keep repeat again and again?

btw, all light is still there? signal, horn sound, netural etc...

Now.. this post makes alot of sense.

Electrical components and heat don't go together.

 

When cool, the rectifier works fine but starts acting up when it gets hot after operating for awhile.

if changing rectifier, can change to g4 one. i'm using tt for my sp.

k, i took out one of the headlights and increased the idle rev to ard 1800 rpm.

seem to work tho, my nsr dun die anymore even with the lights all on.

 

hopefully that lasts. haha..
