i went to the agent, and he said that the xciting is more like a "sports" model.. I'm just comparing par se..

i don't intend to ride hard.. well who knows? so just comparing options first

If you compare Xciting to Maxsym again. Maxsym win Xciting hands down in terms of technology and power. 270cc vs 39Xcc

17.5hp vs 35hp Even if measured power to weight, Maxsym still wins. Maxsym win in price too.

People tell me, how can you get so much for so little? Something must cut somewhere - meaning there must be some cut corner parts. Well, till certain extend seems true. One cannot produce something very good at a cheap price unless of course you are doing charity. Then again, how do we know that other manufacturer are not inflating the price.

I'll get maxsym if motorsport was the agent. Motorsport is great with their after sales service and I visit them often...for the wrong reason ha ha.

Mah on the other hand handle not just scooters but bigger and more expensive bikes. Come on, think about it, if you are a mechanic, would you prefer to entertain a scooter or a superbike?

A scooter shop that does scooter are more open to handling a scooter. Scooter are troublesome because of the large amount of plastic parts and i can guarantee that most mechanic don't like to deal with scooter but if they are in the scooter line then it's a norm, can't complaint.

Back to Maxsym, the problem with Sym is that after the warranty and the engine develop problems, where are you gonna send to? Will they have ready parts? How long are you gonna wait?If your ECU have problems, who do you go back to? Mah?

There is a Sym factory in Malaysia. I read that Sym rider ride over to buy their parts.

There are also shops that sell Sym parts but only the common stuff i guess. Anyway, not a problem if you are willing to go different places to get different parts and service at any scooter shop that'll take care of the rest. No big issue.

I always believe that the more techno gadget a vehicle has the more complicated the repairs get. Simple design, simple problems. Carburetor is still the simplest to solve ha ha. Anything wrong with bike just tune carb. Anything wrong with Fuel Injection whole lot of diagnosis.

If my scooter anything wrong, i push to Motorsport, let them take care.

If Maxsym anything wrong, you push to...

Action lor, how can we adjust our support to our liking? :p

U see can change to xciting seat la.. Lol

Posted
What? Put oversize bar ends?

Next may put rubber O-Ring to dampen vibration. Weight must be heavy I guess, to counter the vibration.

If I tell u now bo kopi liao hahaha

If I am not wrong u put a screw thru the plastic pipe thn washers at the end to secure right?

Yes you are wrong, it's a metal pipe.

Xciting can adjust the backrest mah. Haha.

That's why Xciting is a "higher-end" scooter compared to the DownTown.

Its not "higher-end" bro it is higher end :)

Posted
Hmm.

MaxSYM 400i and Xciting 300Ri can get 27km/L on average. DT300i should be better!! Haha.

Not true la bro paper specs must be taken with a barrel of salt..

Any maker and model 2 or 16 wheels its the same.. :)

Ya, right.

U will never know lol

Yes you are wrong, it's a metal pipe.

Metal pipe also can reduce vibrations..

Buy small orings and put between the bracket at the mirror part. Lock tight. Then second thing, is ur pipe hollow or solid?

Haha. I know lah.

Actually, I don't even know the paper fuel consumption for the DT125i. Do you guys have any figures??

That's why Kymco should launch their Xciting 400i now. Still no info on their taiwanese or international website

=(

Actually, MotorSport also sells 2nd hand bike, and Apache. Haha.

SYM also sells from A.S. Phoon isn't it? Mah Motor isn't the only distributor aye??

To be frank, I prefer the looks of the MaxSYM 400i VS the new SW400. Haha. But if you factor in the Xciting 400i, the other two rivals don't stand a chance =D

And plastic panels are good =D

Oh. One question.

The fuel tank capacity of the DownTown is 12.5L, of which 2.5L is reserve or 12.5L+2.5L total capacity??

Anyways, Honda has started to integrate the DCG [Double-Clutch-Gearbox] onto their road bikes liao.

Namely: Honda NC700X, Honda VFR 1200X CrossTourer [bMW R1200GS adventure bike], VFR1200X and Integra Scooter.

I wonder when will Kymco scooters be getting these technologies too. BMW does also have multi-clutch-gearbox too from their cars. Haha.

Where do you think ASpoon take the Maxsym from?

I am talking about the Agent for Maxsym.

ASpoon keep MaxSym spare parts like engine?

ASpoon keep MaxSym spare parts like engine?

Well, spare parts for SYM is actually widely available.

From belts to rollers, to bearings, etc....

Just a matter of whether you wanna use OEM or compatible products.

That time Ah Lau brought me to this shop in Jln Besar to pick up a belt for a SYM GTS200 he's servicing.

Compatible belt: $80. OEM: $120.

And the bike shop next to MS Ubi also sells the MaxSYM. That was where I saw the bike. Haha.

12.5liters including reserve. Blinking 2.5l left, light on 1 liter left, I think.

Aye?? Ok.

I have yet to ride till the reserve tank light is on though. I don't dare. Haha.

Usually I ride till max 360km then pump liao.

If my tire pressure were at 27psi or 185kPa, my fuel consumption would be 27km/L.

If the tire pressure were at 29psi or 200kPa, my fuel consumption would be 30km/L.

The difference of 3km/L X 10L of fuel = 30km, which is quite a significant distance!!!

So pls guys, check your tire pressures frequently.

Anyways, looks wise, Xciting 400i definitely beats the MaxSym 400i.

However, if you want the road presence and all, MaxSym 400i is actually longer than the MyRoad 700i!!!

I am really thankful to have the opportunity to ride the DT125i. Haha. Realised how stable and good this scooter is compared to the CG125 I learned on =(

Oh.

I also find it a pity that the Titanium color series has stopped production. That's only for model year 2011 and prior.

2012 has the silver replacing the titanium, which is a little sad to me, as I find the Titanium color looking the best against the dark grey/ blue, white, silver and orangey red.
