Once a while when you full load the piston at the appropriate rpm for a considerable distance , it helps to 'clean' the rest of the piston wall. ^_^. Glad both of you had enjoyed the ride. Next round, we go muar for seasoning shopping!

I guess too much Singapore low speed riding, piston not getting the real workout ha ha.

Muar sounds great:thumb:

If it is this Sunday we can't make it :(, have in-law's full month celebration. Well, there's always a next time, Yippie! :cheer:

To Parotae: Whoa! You seriously got new body panels! Now the whole bike so white, ain't maintenance of paintwork gonna be tough?? Haha!

25km/L already very good for Xciting 300/ DT300i....

My DT125i doing 27-28km/L nia....

Resprayed :p after the drop/fall. Now very plain, ugly and no character ha ha.

Nope 25km/l not good enough.

For the same batch of 2012 Downtown 25km/l is not acceptable. It's not my riding habit, i ride normally. I was thinking maybe expressway riding will see a difference but no.

synman is getting 27km/l and i believe he is mostly heavy handed.

shunoski is getting 31km/l constant and up to best 36km/l

Mr Herbert is saying that my case is the only case here but i believe there is more like me, just that other DT owners are not aware of this problem. On the other hand, Mr Herbert is very proud of DT good fuel consumption that he must have told every owner that and make them aware. Apparently there is no complaint from other DT owners.

There's another SBF member, wee keong i think has the same fuel consumption as me at 23km/l.

So, let's get together and highlight to Mr Herbert that we are not alone ha ha.

So currently high fuel consumption Kymco owner are as follow

@parotae (Downtown 300i 2012 model) @25km/l

@BaMBiNo (Xciting 300Ri 2011 model) @20km/l

@wee keong (Downtown300i 2012 model) @23km/l

Hi guys, I am interested in getting my first scoffer, just thinking is downtown 300i a good bike to ride? Because I am current in sport bike position and I am afraid that I might not get use to it. Also does thus bike give unexpected problem e.g bike cannot start coz this is the worst thing could happen; are patts expensive? Lastly, does anyone know what is the selling price? Will there be any 2nd hand bike available? Sorry to ask so Many questions. I may join u guys in the near future.... Kekeke...

If you ride sports bike because you like the torque, speed, its performance and the riding position. Definitely scooter is not for you. Unless you are willing to change yourselves drastically to suit the bike. Before i jumped to the scooter bandwidth, I bought a PCX 125 to test. Fallen in love with scooter ever since. Doubt i will go back to manual gear bike anymore.

Have you tried the FC without all these extra weight in the storage? Maybe it will help?

Doubt, that it'll help. all those weight i carry maybe only 15kg at most.

Will consider your suggestion and see how.

Hi guys, I am interested in getting my first scoffer, just thinking is downtown 300i a good bike to ride?

-As for me (although i'm having an isolated issue by myself) it's still a good scoot because :

1.big storage under seat although the shape is irregular.

2.Good fuel consumption ~30km/h. ( Doesn't apply to some of us :p)

3.Road tax and Insurance follow class 2B.

4. Big comfortable pillion seat.

5.~27hp full 300cc (299.8cc)

6. Good wind protection, depending on your height.

7. Proven reliability.

8. Lower maintenance eg. single disc, cheaper tires. Bigger size tire more expensive.

9. Belt can last up to 40,000km depending on riding style.

The bad

1. Cannot stretch leg

2. Pillion feet in odd position

3. Half fork (not a problem but i wish it was full)

Because I am current in sport bike position and I am afraid that I might not get use to it. Also does thus bike give unexpected problem e.g bike cannot start coz this is the worst thing could happen; are patts expensive?

-Scooter will always be more comfortable than a sports riding position.

This scoot is generally very reliable as i have talk to an owner who do courier with it everyday for 3 years and clock more than 100,000km on it.

No starting problem so far since day 1 from august 2011 till now. 1 crank start every time all the time.

Starter will wear and tear after some time. If not starter than tuning. As your bike is a the carburetor type, wrong tuning maybe the issue.

Downtown is fuel injection.

Parts are not the cheapest but reasonably priced. Common parts are easily available, they have a parts store in Ubi.

Lastly, does anyone know what is the selling price? Will there be any 2nd hand bike available? Sorry to ask so Many questions. I may join u guys in the near future.... Kekeke...

-Selling price will depend on COE. Estimate @ ~$12,000

Best is to call Motorsport but the boss Mr Herbert will be the best person to talk to. Super friendly and nice ha ha. Go and disturb him, he'll be glad to assist you 6281 9778

Another scoot you may want to look out for in the Class 2A range at around Downtown price range is

SYM Maxsym 400i Head on over to the Maxsym thread and post your question.

Then you can go shopping already.

Getting better will always be better than getting cheap but if you can get a better cheaper then getting it cheaper for the better is definitely better than getting a cheaper.

i experienced this once in sg and asked hebert.. he told me its becoz i twisted too much before switching off the engine..

and said it rarely happens.... i need to go find him and ask him abt this and my low milage... but i must say that this bike is good for touring... its comfy relaxed...

Hi BaMBiNo,

how come your FC so bad? 20km/l

did you do any mod, which may affect Fc, or you are carry too many stuff on bike?

As i am also riding xciting 300Ri but i am getting 28-30km/l, so just curious how come your FC is so differ..

Or spark plugs firing at the correct time?? Haha.

For those who are looking for aftermarket exhaust pipes... Leovince has it... :)

Do you have any referral contact number??

If it's cheap, I may be interested!

I find my current stock exhaust really soft... Haha. I hear more of car tires rolling or other bike exhaust more than mine. Haha!
