Its not abt sg being small.. Its bcoz I work night shift.

Then be more proctive. Pen down your off day, sleeping day etc. I am sure you dont work 365 days a year.if you guys interested to meetup, have more drive n initiative. No point spam few pages without even setting a date n time. Place can decided later when everyone SAYS can make it

One thing you should take note in organising meetup is give at least few days in advance. Not morning post in the forum n says meetup in the evening. Ppl dont standby at forum like you do. For me i notify at least 1 weeks in advance so everyone have ample time to plan

Ok lorh. If we work with ur rules, I shan't bother to plan, cos Im a bad planner.

But my venue still same though for the rest who're interested for kopi session.

Today's Friday, Im sure you guys have ur own activities.

If all cannot turn up, then Im changing it to next Tuesday then. still the same 7pm onwards.

Just came back from JB. Haha.

Went over as usual to pump petrol and have lunch there. Must say their food there is really different from Singapore. Sedap!!

Anyways, was quite surprised with how fast my tires lost the air pressures in them. Wonder what's wrong with my tires.....

No wonder my fuel consumption is horrible.... Went down to 27km/L the last tank.

Maybe the nipples? I thinking of changing mine to 90 degree ones... Easier to pump air...

Fitted the LEA7 Variator, wah performance damn bad, but can see an improvement in fuel saving already. Usually 200km the 3rd fuel bar will disappeared, now at 202km still at 3rd fuel bar. i started testing only 15km before 202km and it's that obvious.

From 0-40km/h as usual very perky to 5000rpm, once reach 40km/h rpm at 4000 cannot pull any more long and very long slow drag to 5000rpm and wait till it reach 90km/h then from 100km/h power begin to come at 5500rpm and pull more freely all the way to 110km/h @6000rpm. Didn't go all the way as short test and the result is more or less accurate. I guess at 120km/h it's at peak torque and from there the power will continue as normal LGE5.

Here are some pics of the Dr. Pulley clutch mounted on my bike, the state of my previous clutch bell and a comparison with the replacement.

@parotae, I wonder if by installing a malossi variator will replicate your theory (FC reduction) as well?

No! It will be worst. Like 23km/l. At least that's what i've read in the taiwanese forum but it solve their vibration issue.

LEA7 really saves fuel. 100km/h @ 5500rpm Vs 6000rpm with LGE5 Vari, i can cruise all day. The problem is the worst than bad performance from 40km/h to 99km/h.

Have to change the ECU also to E000 (if i remember correctly) as the rpm drop at 40km/h and no power and dragging all the way to 100km/h makes it not rideable. Power from 100km/h can feel the rush, maybe because the drag is really killing me slowly below 100km/h.

The LGE5 will start to pull from 60km/h onwards

The LEA7 will only start to pull from 100km/h onwards

That's a big difference.

I don't know where's the problem.

Maybe a lighter roller?

The standard roller for both batches of Downtown is 15.5g no?

Yes, 15.5g is the standard, but I remember that changing the rollers for the LEA7 to 14g improves a lot the performance, worth a shot.

I have a spare set of Dr Pulley 14g shame we are that far.

I used them for about a month and was not really convinced with the, acceleration of the line was much better than before but overall I felt the bike was too aggresive for my liking. Settled for the 15g and so far no complaints.

I might try with 16g to see if FC improves :(

Yes, I am considering that Dr pulley 14g option. What I am curious is, does the old downtown feel like my scoot with the LEA7. It's really bad in performance. I have to get it near the performance of old downtown before changing, otherwise the better performance with the 14g could in fact be even better if I correct it to near or the same as old downtown performance. Unfortunately no old downtown to try.

Come to think of it. Both batches using the same engine right. Why such a big difference in performance? ECU???

A lot of the Spanish guys have the old Downtown and they say that the 14g improves performance but they never complaint about it.

The ECU, Variator, Clutch and Fuel injection system (if I am not mistaken) are all different. And who knows what else. Basically whe are riding a Shadow with a Downtown chasis :)

What is more interesting is that I am able to get better FC when travelling long distances even with a pillion + 46l top box full + tunnel bag full + underseat compartment full.

I can go from 22 km/l going most of the time by myself very light in weight (my 75kg + 10kg of bits an pieces) however with quite a bit of traffic to 24.5 km/l on long journeys fully loaded.

Hmmmm...but if u change to lighter rollers performance improve...wouldnt fc go down also? Surely it would be better but I doubt it will remain? Pls correct me if I m wrong... Lol

I am getting the same suspisions!! After my malacca trip..i havent topped up the petrol but I have been pillioning alot infact almost 90% of petrol used to date and dispite tt the fc is going up.. I shld have toped up by nw and I am still in white zone but barely nw I think... Will monitor for a few tanks before coming up with a conclusion.....now the **** part is now I can hear the piston movement sound and a ticking sound..is this normal?

Maybe yours diesel engine like taxi? Tick tick tick tick.:D

You still didn't post the mileage during your malacca trip during your top up.

Better or same high fuel consumption?

Yes you are right.

Dr Pulley sliding roller on the other hand seems like a different story. Lighter yet having the same top speed.
