A voltage regulator regulates voltages that fluctuate high and low.. To keep the the voltage at the require voltage at each application.. Lets say you need to power a 9v application from a 12v source.. Lets say from your car or bike.. Your source might supply 12v-15v.. Using a lm7809 will keep the voltage at 9v regarles of what voltage input it gets. The higher the voltage.. The more stress the voltage regulator has to handle that it heats up.. Thats why some application you require a heatsink to prevent the voltage regulator from burning..

 

A voltage stablizer job is to filter out ripples that the coil is generating.. Lets say you use a 25v capacitor to your application, if the input source is 10v the output will still give 9v-11v.. If your input is 19v.. The output will stil be around 17v plus..

 

They are totally different.. Those usb are using 5v regulator to power your usb device from your vehicle.. You cant use capacitors to regulate the voltage.. It will kill your device..

So lets say the rectifier failed again, the voltage goes up high to 19v.. The voltage regulator will save your bulbs and other electrical from burning out..

Built one bro.. Less than 5 bucks in shrink wrap.. Use only for problematic bike like crazydj or you have stuff that is voltage sensative.. The best way to solve is to use other bike rectifier..

Hopefully nobody take this voltage regulator idea and start selling them or put into a voltage stabilizer cos it will cause alot of problem.. Its only for voltage sensative device..

sorry to hijack the thread abit, My ybr 125 exhaust is quite rusty.. is it necessary to get rid of the rust?

Does anyone know how often to service/tune/clean the carburetor and if it's even necessary?

 

And how about mileage before having to change the front and rear brakes?
