Uh........ uh..... What????

Bike is most fuel efficient at low town commuting condition speeds of 50-80km/h at top gear. 6k RPM is peak torque.

That's what i thought too... and now i have 3 bikes and i haven't even go 2A yet... just imagine.... backside.... very..itchy... must...scratch!!!

What they said.... Yeap. For me personally i whack the bike left right and centre and basically can't give a rat's behind maintaining it.... so here's what i learned when the bike started giving problem (and it shouldn't!!!) Share with you... If you keen you can meet me i teach you how to self service this bike.

Break it down!! DgenerationX!!!

  • EO every 1000km or one month, whichever is sooner ($10)
  • Spark plug every 5000km ($3)
  • Check air filter every week (tends to get flooded with water and hecne your engine will not be cooled... VERY DANGEROUS! I paid the price of overheating my engine.... TWICE)
  • Change air filter as and when it gets "chui" ($20 or cheaper)
  • Brake pads and brake shoe ($15 each)
  • Chain check every week, tighthen by loosening both side the nut and turn the screw
  • Lube chain with EO, i use WD40 to clean it, can't give a **** also lube it with WD40
  • Brake light blown changed ($4)
  • Rear tyre changed... botak ($60 DURO tyre)
  • Ignition key set replaced (Ignition, side panel and Fuel tank $118)

Monthly mantainence = $10 EO. It doesn't get any cheaper than that bro! YBR power!!!

P.S. Oh ya forgot.,, clutch cable also $15!!!

your thing are 50-70% more ex than me.

EO-$7

spark plug-$2

brake shoe front and rear $14

bulb 1 dollar

clutch cable $2.50

hahha

Wah. Today i pump petrol and calculate my fuel consumption. I got 33km/L. Previously was about 60km/L. I remember i left my bike at bike shop for 1 day. All my colleagues warned me that shops will take some fuel for other bikes. Then when i collected the bike i suspected they took some of my fuel. I thought a little only but according to my calculation, 4L gone sia! Perhaps last time got something to do with my idle speed was at about 2.8k -3k rpm. But cannot to the point until drink 4L right? I sense something is amiss. You guys know anyway i can remove my petrol from my tank, transfer to bottle or something before i send to bike shop? Just in case. :p

Also, 95, 98 and V-Power, got any difference? Because i just pumped 98 rather than 95 and i can feel umpsome difference in the power. Maybe i dreaming. :)

There not much diff 4 a 125 cc bike, pump 92 better save money..

Relax ah bro. I never go and change ah. The price to ex and mech also ask me not to change. Anyway, i came back from work and go to the workshop at Kallang. Wah. My magnetic coil spoil sia. Lucky my bike under warranty. So yeah i heard from alot of people and got warned by my friends that i got to watch out for the coil. Sigh. Anyway, i was in rush i didnt realise that my tail light blow. When headlights turn on, no light behind. Front brake pressed, no light. Light only come on when rear break press. Wiring problem?

EDIT: Some more when i came back was in a rush i realise my bike not really treated well. I can see like a rubber rub on my tank and stuff like that. 3 weeks i own the bike and it has lost its shine. Wah i dont wanna watch just leave my bike like that anymore. I must watch the mech service my bike. Sigh. I just hope no other problems.

Ur YBR just 3 wks giv a lot of problem?

I just tot of downgrading to tis bike....:dot:

Guys

Funny thing happened to me this morning. My bike had slight difficulty starting this morning. When it already started, engine died after few seconds. If i reved the engine a little, then the engine will die after like 15 seconds. So i went to open my choke and turn on the engine. And guess what? My engine cannot start AT ALL. So i closed back choke and turned on engine normally. Then i revved for a bit and waited for a few minutes and straight away rode off to work. My YBR normally is hard to start the morning after i pump petrol full tank the previous night.

I just wanna know,

1) How come when i turn on choke my bike cannot start at all but can start if i turn it off?

2) When i pump petrol full tank the day before, the engine will be hard to start the very next morning?

Thanks alot guys! :)

Hi guys

I just wanna make sure. My rear YBR drum brakes now starting to squeak even more when i press. It gets expecially squeaky in the morning. After riding for about 10 to 15 mins, the squeaking sound will be much less or dissappear altogether. If i leave the bike and ride off like a few hours later, the sound comes back. When i check the brake shoe wear limit indicator, it has not reached the worn out mark yet. Just to make sure, the rear brake shoe is worn out if there are squeaky noises right? How much does it cost for a new YBR rear brake shoe? Thanks!

I would also like to ask another question. When i was riding out from work towards home, i turned my fuel c0ck to reserve. Then, while riding today, i was full throttling on the ECP to clear some carbon. Then just after the entrance to the KPE tunnel, while my throttle was fully opened, my RPM from 6k suddenly jumped up to 9k. I was suprised as the engine sounded weird. I closed the throttle and turned it back on fully and the sound was not as bad. While i was idle at traffic, i realised that my engine was acting in a rough manner and i can hear a distinct "tak tak" sound as the piston is moving. While accelerating, i sometimes feel a power loss as if my gear seems not to engage fully. I rode straight to my mech at Changi and he said that its normal for the bike to do that because it is on reserve and the engine got a surge because it was switching from "normal" to "reserve" tap. He asked me to just pump petrol full tank and ride normally. I don't really buy this. Is it possible i blew a gasket or something? Can i have some help with this on what might have happened? Thanks!

Oh yeah i also asked him about my rear brakes and he said that its because its rough and got like brake dust so he will sand it for me because when i got the bike in March he change for me a new brake.

Maybe you could try it out what the mech said, then full blast again as what you did , doing the same process as you mentioned. C whether its got anything to do with the reserve fuel or not.

Eh bro! Guess what? I went to petrol station, pump air and petrol then decided to whack my bike. Go on the expressway open throttle like no one business but no difference for quite some time, 15-20 mins. Then when about to go home, at about 40km/h, i whack full throttle. And guess what? The rpm shoot up again, i did the same thing and before i know it, the rattling sound GONE sia! I think i somehow "knocked" something back into position. Cannot be i ride for 18km still the fuel never "reset". Haha.

Eh then is it common for brake to get squeaky sound even if new brake? Thanks.

Brakes especially disk brake when there is stone chips that get stuck in the brake pad will produce a squeaky sound when brake as its brush against the caliper, what that you can do is to ask the mechanic to open/dismantle the brake caliper and shoot with air compressor to remove this particles. @ the moment what that you can do now is to check the diskbrake whether there is uneven wear on the surface or some deep scratch mark on it.

Aha. I see. Anyway, regarding my problem yesterday, this morning when i start my bike, the same sound keeps coming out. "Tak tak". What could be the problem? My colleagues say that its normal when you whack your bike. It just happens. On my next service, just ask the mech to check and tighten stuff. What else could be the problem?

The tak tak sound could be a loose timing chain, this happens when we always whack the engine but dun worry its not a serious problem.

Now how do i fix this problem? Also, dont mind me asking, if i ask my mech to take out my engine and clean it, what is that called and how much is it?
