She has always been bullshitting people with how good her workshop is. But actually is all bullshit ! She would talk bad mouth about other mechanics saying that they have expensive workmanship and etc whereas when she can't do a proper job let say welding parts, she would actually send it to them. Never give in to this old bag , she's just rotten as a person who just wants money out of someone's misery . Report this matter to CASE actually fixing of gear box won't cost ya anything more than $50-60 . $700 would actually be overhaul repairs from my experience . She is one foul mouth ***** for sure , sometimes i would give her a taste of her own medicine. To those who actually do their repairs with her, you just wasted your money on useless efforts and workmanship . There are really more better mechanics than her brother . Most of her stuff are from Thailand or even indonesia . Hate that rag

Ok...

I used to ride a PX150 as well, and I spent quite a bit fixing the bike up from a junk status...

I went to Ah Joo for the paint job, and some mods, such as the handle bar, and the ferring, etc...

I went to Tong Aik for some after mod jobs to fix a few small things, such as the horn and IU, which Ah Joo refused to fix, because I didn't have a battery in my bike. (Ah Joo wants me to save my money.)

Ah Joo's paint job not as good as Tong Aik, but he's really much cheaper for many things, even the tin-can exhaust, servicing, handle bars and many other mods.

Yes, the auntie at Tong Aik is a money sucker... she somehow seems to be calling the shots and collecting the monies. But Ah Wee right upstairs is honest, and he does a great job.

wow old thread! Anyways bumping it with my recent exp. Just got my GT200 2nd hand and the previous owner serviced the bike there all along and I thought heck I'll just go back anyways since they should be clear with the bike. True enough, the previous owner changed a load of stuffs which cost like close to $2k or something.

After a while, I realized my GT200 was very sluggish when it comes to acceleration, so I brought my baby back to them. First thing the auntie said, "if you want us to open up and check, you need to pay $50 for labour before we change anything". I was like ok.. A bit exp but I think that's fair so I just left my bike to them and went off. Oh I told them to change the oil and air filter anyway since it's about time. She said she will call me if anything else needs to be changed. A while later I received a missed call but I called back an hour later, she told me they've already changed the belt and the rollers and cost about $300 with the engine oil and air filter. I was thinking "hmm... I thought the belt have another 12k km to go before checking?". But at the point in time, as long as it can fix the issue I'm fine with it. Next day, I parted my dough, $300 and collected the bike, I saw the belt and it's still pretty damn new. The uncle told me the belt although is new, it's already slightly stretched hence it might have caused this issue(already smells like BS TBH). But I didn't say anything since I haven't tried my bike. Took the bike, rode out, still moves like a freaking snail! I was starting to think that that's how a GT200 is supposed to be. So next day, decided to try out another shop and went to Tai Hin, a bit out of place but I was prepared to slam my $$$ to add a V4 cylinder kit and a performance variator to make it fly.

Reached Tai Hin, told the uncle about my issue, he took it for a test ride and he said "no need to tune ur engine la, just change the clutch plate, bearing and maybe tune your carb a bit can already". My next question was, how much do you charge to open up the bike? He was like "huh? our labour inclusive in the parts cost liao". Cool! So anyways, he opened up, showed me the clutch plate, it was really roughed up, that explains the rattling sound when I go at low RPM. I tried the bearing as well and indeed it felt stuck at certain points. I changed the stock rollers to Dr Pulley sliders as well and all in all cost me $320. Test ride it, pick up is so fast that I nearly got into an accident after that =.='''

Moral of the story, don't bring your modern Vespa to TA! I think they specialize in manual ones and no doubt they are good in that aspect. But if you're riding a GT or LX, you might like to consider some other scooter shops more experience in auto bikes.
