Hey guys, im planning to take out a cbr400rr.. can you guys gimme some advice on how to take care of it? what to take note and stuff.. some people tells me that since its an old bike it can be problematic.. isit true? power wise i think its awesome right?

confirm must rev. alot of fireblade cant rev anywhere near red meter anymore. normal fireblade can easily rev to red meter.

of course while test reving u dun need to rev to red as its is bad, but at least need rev to 14k rpm.

this is good cbr400rr

ask permission or ask him rev for you. when i sell my bike, i let ppl rev too o_O

anyway 14k rpm is not that bad if you do a quick rev.. like rev, let go immediately, dont hang on 14k rpm for like 5s..

dont over rev to the red meter, its bad for the bike, especially if its an old bike. it was not designed to reach the red meter, even tho its able to o_O

rmb, during drag test, must up gear at 14.5k, never ever allow it to rev more than 15k.

my old cbr can rev to 16k. i did it like twice, then ppl told me never do that. abit too late cus i just sold my bike then D: i dont feel or notice any damage yet tho, but was told i would wreck the bike if i do it a few couples time more.

btw when i look around my friend during my days, i realise about 50% of the cbr cant rev past 12k anymore. but u wont feel much wrong if u are driving in sg, max 90-100km/h. maybe doing a top overhaul would fix it, idk cus i didnt have this prob to attempt fix before.

but if im u, i would mind if my bike cant rev past 12k D:

Hi guangwei, I have a small issue here. Hope you can tell me what wrong with my baby. My rev always stay at 6-7K for a few second before it really shoot higher. Can I know what's wrong with it? Is it the ECU spoil? I have change plug and service the carburettor but the issue still the same. My next try will be changing the plug cable. Hope you do know what's wrong with it.

And can anyone here recommend any good work spray shop??

Thanks for the advice. I would mind too if my bike can't rev past 12k lol! True that and it's so difficult to find a good conditioned CBR4 to take in. I am looking for one currently but will only it later in the months. If anyone is selling a good condition with coe ard 2021 abv, kindly pm me! ( meh, or a RVF haha! )

Tuning maybe.. Not so sure.

Anyway, you can try looking for yeow's motor located at amk or look for ah huat or sth like that. Hearsay that their workmanship is pretty alright and it's cheaper compared to others.

my fireblade have the same issue too when i bought the bike. bad carb caused it. some previous owner, went and act pro, drill holes in the carb, end up have to change.

if the carb is really drilled by some noob like my bike, u have to change it. servicing wont help :/

anyway bikework's mechanic helped me diagnose it when i did carb service. he said must change o_O the malaysian large fit guy with ear stud. idk his name. maybe u can find him.

he did all the changes for me. ah beng was saying he dont have any spare stuff at first, but he said he have, then hunt through bikeworkz's garage parang parang for like 30mins then gave me a new carb. my bike became a different bike! o_O

How often is the inner exhaust to rust or have brown colour on it?

see picture circle in red.

that part is the header sector.

it doesnt matter if it rust from my knowledge. but if theres a hole due to corrosion or impact, then u have to change.. hmm

if its stock, it almost nvr rust because theres some coating apparently.

Hi guys, keen to join the babyblade family here... but knowing that this is a very old bike, would like to hear from current owners if this bike is hard to service?

Also, are spare parts expensive and hard to get? or are the places or websites where we can get them from reliably?

Thanks for all your inputs! =D

Hi,

I'm looking to sell away my Stainless Steel, 4-1-1 CBR400 headers. It's been in my store for ages and would be a waste to throw it away. It is not in the best condition, some oxidization and a couple of springs are missing, just need to polish and get some springs. Just want to let go for $50, bought it for like $380 few years ago. Please PM me. Thanks.
