hi everybody... i got a few questions to ask. i'm jus got a cbr 400. i would like to know wat the tyre pressure u guy normally pump in the front n rear tyre cos i very new to tis bike.

then next is the petrol, no fuel gauge, so roughly how many km can tis bike go before empty.

next is gear change, every single gear i change to got one sound. like those sound u heard when from netrual to gear 1 that kind of sound. is it normal?

n lastly, normally wat are those wear n tear parts. example for nsr sp the clutch plate, piston ring, etc... wat about this bike?

sorry for the trouble. new bird here.:cheeky: :cheeky:

cbr parts are getting scarce. those parts that are compatible with other bikes for sure can get, but engine parts are like goldust nowadays.

wat part they need to change?need to order frm japan meh?i'm sure CBR parts can be easily get in SG either used or new.just be careful bro of their tactics.

what had happen is lesson for u.too bad we can't turn back the clock.

next time if happen u have prob wth bike stuff, can ask our fellow forummers here.i'm sure they're willing to give a helping hand.u can oso go recce 2-3 mechs first asking the faulty before sending for repairs.

hope everything goes well and u'll get yr dream bike in couple of days time

totally agree wit ridhzam,i usually go to 2 shops to recce if there's anything wrong wit my bike..if both shop says its the same prob, then i'll repair it,if diff views from both shop,i'll just recce again..unless it's engine prob, then i'll repair at only one shop other than that ill hop around..very hard to trust shops nowadays, all kind of bull, this must change that must change, but in true fact its not spoilt..so have to be careful..

rider only f33, r33 and with a load at the back f33, r36. fc depends on bike, rider and amount of petrol. ard 300km b4 reserve. as for the sound, it wouldnt be as loud as from neutral to gear 1 for every gears. normal wear and tear are the same for every bikes.

The CBR400RR is probably one of the more reliable old 400cc sports bikes. But due to its age (my R model is 11 years old) many parts have worn out and need to be replaced. Expect to spend thousands of dollars in addition to the bike itself if you want to bring the bike back to its former glory, unless the previous owner has already spent the time and money to do it. But in that case he wouldn't be selling his bike at the market price.

I would recommend a R model since its newer. You can literally consider buying the bike as buying a chassis and an engine. Everything else can be replaced.

Lol... Boy is this so true. I am really spending thousands to bring the bike back to it's former glory. Plus I am always replacing it with original Honda, Japan parts all the more expensive. Most times Boon Siew does have the parts but their price for the parts are usually $30-$40 more, then having to import them from Japan. But the wait for the parts to arrive is really :giddy:

Most friends also ask me why dun i just sell bike and use that same amount of money to get a new bike. But by selling bike isn't it as good as passing the problems on to the new owner?

300km? o_O My bike only tahan 170km before hitting reserve.

As for sound of gear change... Does the bike jerk when changing gears? If yes.... you may like to have your clutch plates checked out.

Lol... The good thing about needing to replace all these parts, is that I am really learning through the expensive way on what sympotoms to look out for when my parts are going to go. :cheeky:

Rebuilding my dreams. But first, the gears

1) WP RS Taichi riding jacket

2) WP riding pants

3) Titanium riding gloves

4) Garmine Nuvi 550 GPS (US$259)

5) WP Komine riding boots

6) Arai Helmet

7) The BIKE of course! :cheeky:

ur bike is a drinker. ur jets are straw? no redline no up gear?

Erm.. what is redline?

yes it is a drinker. Most of my friends can get 22km/l

But hehehe.. fuel jets are what i will look at later after I get some other more urgent parts fixed.

guys fuel consumtion does not only depends on bike, the master(rider) of the bike also plays a big part. if the person is riding for all the fun then dun even think bout saving fuel. if ask me, i would try my best to save fuel while i use it for transport to work. but when at outing or i am doing my happy riding, i dun bother bout fuel.
