actually, not quite. the back right fairing's not done and the front panel is cracking up pretty bad. so have to redo that part too i guess. that's about it. : )

May I know what are the factors that affect the rear end stability? When my friend rode my bike and corners, I saw the rear wheel slants relative to the frame. And when I corner with it, it wobbles easily on slightly uneven surfaces. I just changed engine mounting and YSS suspension 5 months ago. Could it be the transmission bearing or wheel bearing?

 

It will slant very slightly due to the fact that we only have suspension on one side. This is normal. is the suspension the same length as stock?

a longer or shorter suspension may be the culprit.

Your engine mounting is 5months old. but just check to be sure. try lifting your exhaust to check for up down freeplay with ur scoot on mainstand.

Correction bro.. There will be no slant effect if your bike is perfectly fine.

Unless uve fall n have impact that damage some areas. Mine is perfectly

straight after changing new mountings. Italian bikes is popular with single

swing arm. So I guess they definately don't design it to be slant.

 

by lifting exhaust on mainstand is to check your condition of your bushings..

thanks, anyway my bike seems to heat up really fast eventhough i changed a 2nd hand radiator already, how do u check whether the radiator is in workin condition. and my bike exhaust lets off alot of smoke, more to burning smoke than exhaust fumes. i switched it off and now i cant seem to start it again and left it at the carpark. any ideas what's wrong?

How did u check the straightness? on the mainstand or with the weight of a rider on it?

my scoot is 100% accident free. maybe the slanted ones i saw were those damaged ones.

check your coolant pump.

That $25 piece of plastic can screw up ur your cooling badly

i changed a 2nd hand radiator abt two weeks ago. my previous one choked up quite bad and so the coolant stayed stagnant, so the bike heats up quite easily.

 

anyway, you could try reving(?) up your bike with the coolant cap off to see whether the coolant is running, thats what i do.. if its running, then its good enough for me i guess..

 

oh, before i actually changed my radiator, i plugged out all the hoses to see whether they are choked in any way. maybe you could try that too. thats what the shop did when i told them i wanted to change my radiator, although i already told them i did the whole checking of hoses thingy. :S

Can improperly adjusted preload causes the rear end to slant a bit too?

Actually i've been servicing my bike at AHM..It used to be behind Singapore Post (Along the stretch of Mach Speed). Its called Ah Hong Motors. Pls do not let the name of the shop bring your morale down. So far im very much satisfied with the service vs pricing.

 

Now the shop has been relocated. You can find it at:

Autobay, 1 Kaki Bukit Ave 6, #02-46

You can also call 68461884

 

There are a few other of our Runner mates servicing their bike there. You can check with Scootard or Wan Gilez. I even met Fai there. For those who have seen the grounding wire on my bike, you can see similiar ones done up on their bikes too. And the new shop has a comfortable "lepak" area.

Lots of smoke smells different than a normal exhaust fumes means your top head gasket blow. That is why it's hard to start coz of coolant water slips in your block and wet your sparkplug. In your scenario, you must change 2 items which is your top head gasket and water pump the shaft with bearing. Doesn't need to fix new fan. But if you want to fix complete water pump, ur bike need to overhaul and that will be a different price. good luck!

hi guys,im using a mikuni carb too,n recently e lower half of the carb gt lobang..so,i used the lower half of a diff brand..so,wanna ask u,how much does a 2nd hand OR a brand new mikuni card sells for?n does shops sell 2nd hand k&n air filter?where to get 2nd hand tyre for gilerra?since the carb gt lobang,my bike stats to have probs continuously...
