 of course no part time traders are as experience as those full time ones

and i believe those part timers wont even dare to call themselves qualify.

But since the TS is asking for part timers and full timers, thats when it attracted my attention

yo i think its a misunderstanding thats all  part timers when conpare to full timers are really nothing.

Cause in order to be a full timer or a really qualify one, u need to really know the technical terms, the time of entry, time of exit, when to do a stop loss to prevent marginal call and all those etc etc. So alot of time, pain, epxerience, advises, read ups has to be invested into it before u really can be call a qualify one ....

so cool down bro as we are not here for trouble anyway

hmmm, isnt a trader one who trades for clients behalf. Investor trader is one who trades with his own money. So part-time trader usually implies self-investors? TS asking how much traders makes, implies full-time traders who trade for clients?

In the eyes of the MAS, we are simply known as trading representatives weather u are a dealer/remisier. All we do is execute trades, manage risk and give advice to our clients.

The word "Trader" in my defination is widely used and is very vague. In my opinion, i have only 2 types of clients and they are not traders, they are either genuine investors looking for long term gains or they are market speculators. :p

the major banks from Barclays, Credit Suisse, JP, Vittol and day trading firms. depending on forex, commodities, equities, from metals to energy, the list is long but u get the picture.

experience and track record aside, necessary prerequisites are business majors such as finance, economics, statistics or acturial would give most an edge.

Nope philips is far from big boy, it's just a local house.

go get a dealers rep licence first if you are interested in stock broking, stock trading. from there, you can try getting into a local firm or bank if you have a good basic degree.

Generally speaking, unless you have excellent academic qualifications in the related fields, foreign banks or global players wont be talking to you even at entry level.

yes... banks do hire engineering grads ...

but usually

1. during boom times when demand for talent outstrips supply. right now there's a overflow of business grads everywhere.

2. mostly computer engineering... in quant role/modelling etc. financial engine etc.

3. good honours. they can have their pick of choice. why would they choose anything less than 2nd upper at least?

4. most end up in the back office as well.... crunching numbers etc... and pay wise isn't fantastic... most ppl think bank and fantasize abt the glory of front office... they don't really that in reality, they forget/conveniently igonre the drudgery of the back office....

the thing you would have to ask yourself is, how badly do u want this?

are u willing to re-educate yourself to come out with excellant results to make up for the lack of experience to seek employment for a junior position if u even get employed in the first place?

if its a yes, then go for it.
