First hand pulsar... i think need to top up the $5k he set apart.

If you want below 150cc, go for Honda Wave. There's a reason why so many malaysian are using it.

for ultimate savings and maintenance and parts cost, get a honda wave. but there's not much style in that bike. if you want stronger power but still cost-efficient, get a pulsar. if you want a sportsbike, get cbr 150. if scrambler, xr 125. if you want a cheap maintenance auto bike, get nouvo elegance. if you want to try a new bike, can get bajaj xcd 135cc. Universal motor is bringing them in soon. it is rumoured that it will cost about $2k-$3k machine price over here though it's sold in india at Rs 45000(S$1300) and its fuel consumption is at a proven 72km/l!! you can be the first few to try that model.

that is claimed but tested minimum at 72km/l. even with 8 litres, it's worth it to top in jb! just need to waste half a litre for the journey and you're set for a week's worth of travel!

43 000 Indian rupees = 1 279.01205 Singapore dollars

45 000 Indian rupees = 1 338.50098 Singapore dollars

47 000 Indian rupees = 1 397.98992 Singapore dollars

I second phantom. Good choice if you like cruiser bikes, with good FC. My ex-TA200 hit 38km/l with rear box. You can get a 5+yr old TA200 at approx

Wave is definitely more economical.

1 concern I came across when I was considering pulsar 1yr+ ago was that the parts were not that common, hence ex. But I'm not sure abt now. Consult pulsar riders before you buy one.

what? bajaj so hiong bo? :thumb: 72km/ litre!!!

fc good, but got power? coz they are always compromise of each.

but that 5 gear seems good. if our cubs have 5 gear, shd be able to have better fuel economy. evitime 4th gear whack until 100+ :faint:

What is block leakage? Care to explain? Noob here.

Been riding a 3 yr old Pulsar for 5 months and had not experience much problem. So was curious to know more about it.

i think it depends on how the rider is dude,,,, further more the bike is cheap..... dun think there's a perfect bike that doesn't need any repair

Yeap u are absolutely right... If you take care of the bike and do regular servicing and mantainence it shouldn't have that problem.

Block leakage occurs when the piston rings inside the engine block doesn't seal well (I.E. Cracked/old wear and tear etc...) and causes engine oil to leak past the seals and into the block. You can usually see oil seeping from the block if its serious...

Another downside is that Universal Motors has a monopoly over BAJAJ parts and bikes... you can't get them anywhere else. So cost of parts will be slightly higher...

From my knowledge, usually it's the gasket that is worn out, therefore engine oil will leak on the cylinder. But a few dollars exproy from DIY shop will be able to solve the problem.

It's the same like Hong Leong monopolise over Yahama, Boon Siew over Honda and Guan Hoe over Suzuki. At least what we get at Universal, you can be 100% sure that it's OEM.

If you were to get the OEM parts from HL, BS or GH, it's equally expensive as well, isn't it? Anyway most aftermarket products (chain, spocket, plugs and whatsoever) can be used on the pulsar as well, except perhaps for the engine wise, most outside shops do not have sufficient knowledge on it yet.

bro.. don't mix up the xcd version and the current one on the road, that is bajaj pulsar. bajaj pulsar can never beat a kupchai's fc but the big tank is a big plus to go top up in jb. but bajaj xcd 135cc is definitely the kupchai version of the bajaj brand. its max speed is 98km/hr. another similar model but 125cc can only go max 90km/hr. also, it's only 4 gears.

one main reason i like about bajaj pulsar is that i can go jb top up petrol, save more money than using a kupchai. another thing is that with a cc of 180, it has more torque and power than a kupchai. the only complaint is of course about the cost of parts. but so far, the parts that i find unbearable is the cost of tyres. but cannot complain la. big tyre means more expensive what.

bro.. my bike got that prob before. cannot use that tactic. problem solved for a few days only. then, the epoxy gone already. but that one not so often la. when that part worn out then change lor.
