how reliable is flip up helmet compare to FF?

Well depends on the make and construction of the helmet. My partner crashed into the side of the car, head first, and his BMW System 5 protected him (other than a cut on the chin from a plastic piece inside the helmet which has since been removed from the helmet upgrade, System 6).

According to this website, the helmet has a 100% rating for staying locked upon impact.

You can check the ratings of the other helmets from the same website.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

How about Shoei's Multitec (http://www.shoei-helmets.com/Helmet.aspx?Multitec&h=13&t=1) or Nolan's N103 (http://www.nolanhelmets.com/n103ncom.htm) or AGV's Longway (http://www.agv.it/prodotto.asp?Id_Prodotto=5). Don't know whether they are PSB approved though ..

I have an AGV Longway, PSB approved. I'm sure you can get the helmets with the PSB sticker as long as you're willing to pay...

I've tried a few flip-ups and the only one that's comfortable is....Zeus...sigh...

I would like to wear FF but wearing specs makes it almost impossible.

Better not put your helmet in the box when it is parked under the sun. The heat might cause damage to the rubber or glue that holds things together ..
