Get used to it. Bike cover as it ages it will get torn easily. Most common torns that occurred to mine is when I accidently step onto it while covering the bike.

 

Anyway, whenever there's a torn I just sew back the hole nowadays. Ugly bike cover, yes, but it still protects the bike.

 

Just treat it as the bike cover suffers damages in place of your bike. :)

yr case is very similiar to mine. Tt happened on me few yrs ago. But my summon was nicely stapled on the torn portion. Better....haha
