This is what i know..

 

K1300R - should be the fastest naked bike ever made according to the displacement. (V-max not included as that one is special category)

 

BMW categorise their bikes according to the engine..for eg,

K = inline 4 engine

R & HP2 = boxer engine

G = single

F = parrallel twin

 

so the K1300R is an inline-4 engine.

 

Servicing will be the same as any other bikes except that it will more expensive than other brands. The bulk of the cost is man-hour labour cost especially if servicing is done thru the agent. Can save a bit if service bike on other workshops that is conversant with BMW bikes. Not sure about warranty issues if service with outside workshops. I guess following the maintainance schedule is important for this type of bikes. Better be safe than sorry because sorry will be damaging to the wallet badly!

 

Parts availibilty should be good. However parts will cost more than Jap bikes. If change with agent, all parts come with 2-years warranty minus labour cost (no idea if this warranty available or not now).

 

Premium bikes do carry premium prices. The bike currently cost $41, 800 machine price only (based on the PML webby).
