So ur bike is still unreliable as u have not attain the magical number.

I am curious. Why do u equate reaching the 250km/hr mark with reliability of the bike?

 

I always thought reliabilty is achieved through periodic checks, diligent servicing and prompt changing of wear & tear parts. That's what I did when i was riding my fazer and it never failed me..

 

I admit a stock FZS1000 fazer can hit a top speed of 160mph (based on numerous info available in the net and magazines I've seen). But bearing in mind that ur bike is 6 years old, there must be lots of wear & tear parts that in need to get changed. Nvr assume or presume as for 2nd hand bikes, you nvr know the history of the bike unless u know the previous owner.

 

I read that you have done top overhaul ( I presume its for valve clearance, shim adjustments and hopefully a check or change of timing chain and tensioner) at Planet (if I did not read wrongly), can I ask you how many days was ur bike in the bikeshop? I hoe it's not a 4hr job.

 

Last question. Have you checked if all ur 4 cylinders are running or not? It could just be a dud spark plug that is causing u all this problem.

Aku pernah tanye..dia ckp sume ok. But i suspect he took the mechs word on it..

In all fairness we did advise you on your issues but you did not take heed. Instead you continued on your own course of action, which none of us, and bear in mind some of these guys are VERY experienced riders, could not see the logic behind it. Then u expect us to take u seriously? Brudder! Pls lar, take a step back and look at it frm our POV. Would you layan urself?

 

We are not trying to be nasty or self righteous but we really struggle to understand your logic. And your brushing us off in our own kampong doesn't help.

 

Advise is free to give and whether heeded or not its up to the individual. But if ur not goin to listen to the answer then don't ask the question.

 

Get to knw us a little bit more and who knows? You mite have a diff opinion.

because it should have been able to, and not being able to shows that there is something wrong with the bike. not knowing what is wrong with the bike, and still using it, would like waiting for the sword of damocles to fall on your head if and when the fault becomes major.

it was in for 3 days at southern. I wanted to come down everyday to observe, but I fell sick on the second day it was in the shop.

yes. simple water spray test shows all cylinders are firing.

Seriously FMC are a nice bunch of people. We have people from all walks of life becoming great frens due to us joining this group.

 

What we dun understand is ur rationale and problem solving in approaching the issue.

 

Wat we are saying is....U have just bought the bike for 1 week and u are spending lota of money on the so called service of the bike to get it to reach 250kmph.

Get to know the bike a bit longer before you try to diagnose the problem.

 

Sending to shops generally they will advise u on changing n doing many unnecessary jobs which might or might not solve the issue. ( nuthing against Planet. Ah Chong is a good fren of mine n i have been servicing my bike with him since 2b days). However knowing ah chong he wouldnt ask u to change as long as the part is werking. Therefore i m guessing that u made ur own diagnosis n asked him to do all the services/job.

 

You cld have spent all the money on performance enhanment instead n that would definitely help ur bike in torque n speed.

 

Whatever it is the bike is bought, you not happy with it sell it away for 2-3k loss plus all the expenses paid fit the jobs done. Then get a bike that will definitely hit 250kmph on stock setting eg cbr or r1. If u are looking at fazer1k for high speed touring 230kmph n above i believe u have bought the wrong bike.

 

I believe that you are frustrated after buying the bike n not getting the desired outcome from the bike to ur expectation so in trying to justify ur purchase u are pumping in money to the bike to try and achieve it.

 

But believe me you, there could be lots of potential in the bike with addons of performance parts. But the issue of reliability has nuthing to do with hitting 250kmph. As long as the internals mechanical parts ate werking well i believe fazer will definitely be a reliable sporttourers.

Able to when new or well maintained. U've had it a short time n its old n u dunno da history.

 

Taking it out of context...

 

Firing but at full power? Cud be plug cables, plugs, fuel mixture, low power etc.. firing dun mean ok. Did u pull ur plugs n see the burn? Do u even knw how to check?

cz ni saye nak try tuka to fz1 handle bar kalau compatible..

another issue is saya baru balik kl wif my bike..

bt now my bike throttle is no longer smooth as before..

biler open throttle at high speed, when tutup throttle and nak open throttle amat kasar..

any bros ade advised tak,,?

Kalo tak silap any gen2(2006 onwards) bole muat but mite need to mod your clamps. Pernah dibuat but dat guy jrg2 post.

nt nevertheless sok saye turun bikeshop ask around.. takmo lak dorg suruh tuka ini tuka itu.

EO for fully synthetic recommend to change every 5000km for effective engine run. Coz after that the eo starts to break down.

 

Pc5 kalau install mesti dyno for optimum effect. Alternatively if u have fren yg dah dynoed u can use a laptop with the software and copy their dyno mapping. At the same time kalau install u must fix an o2 sensor to bypass ecu setting. Otherwise the ecu will kickback into stock setting thereby rendering ur pc5 setting of no use.

Oohhh sorry lupa ups and down.

 

 

It depends on ur setting normally two types. Fuel economy or max horsepower.

 

Best fuel consumption: upsss minyak better mileage. Cons: u will lose ur low end n high end.

 

Max horsepower: uppss increase in horsepower in mid range n high end. Cons: minyak cepat habis less mileage.

 

This are the two extreme of the setup. You can adjust simewhere in between but i dun see the point in setting neither here nor there.

 

So far from what i know

Racewerk normally do fuel efficient

Hkl do max horsepower.
