need advice on stolen bike

sad and stupid story.. a brilliant guy, A, was caught riding his friend, P, bike without valid insurance coverage. A was afraid that P will lost his license if A tell police that P let him ride the bike. So A told the police that he stole his friend bike for a joy ride. So in this case P wont lose his license unlike A, who under disqualified will be charge with 3 charges, theft, invalid insurance and riding under disqualified. before A was caught, P made a report after he discovered his bike missing.

 

P admit his mistakes and wanted to plead guilty. he was caught before for drink driving and was revoked for 2 years. A is a very good, decent guy never had any other record. he was just to eager to ride bike. that was one of his stupid days. cant resist to wait till his revocation period finish.

 

P felt very sorry for his best friend A. A now in remand yet to sentence. A told P his IO predict A will sentence about 2 years imprisonment. P wants to help his friend A as much as possible.

 

In this scenario, can P pull over the case? P just hope A wont be in jail.

P admite already right and its in both statements that there was a theft of bike. So its deemed that there is a theft of bike. Plus if u change statement now you can get jail for false statement. In the first place which is more important loosing a licence or putting a man in jail? Who is at wrong for lending the bike and who is wrong for asking for the bike? U can try to ask ur friend to Drop the charges with the police for theft of bike... Can appeal maybe...

police drop P charges to 3 from 5 charges already..

 

A, owner of the bike, wants to take back the report. so at least the accuse, P, left with 2 charges which cannot avoid, riding under disqualification and invalid insurance.

 

any ways to take back report? Owner A must attend court or refer to police?

Owner dont prefer police because the investigation officer (IO) always pressure P, force P accept the charges.
