i had met with a road block last few days...

 

But my main concern is, my friend who is working in this xxx company doing despatch n he is using company van.. so on that day he was drunk so he gave mi the permission to drive it and there was a road block infront so the police stop me and took down my driving licence and particular and ask mi whose van is this and y my friend is not the driver...the police jus let mi go and ask mi drive carefully, i jus wan to check with you guys..is it legal for mi to drive his company van with my class 3 licence?..

 

And how does the insurance of the van works?..Is it cover the driver, the van or any driver?..coz i scared my licence will be revoke for driving ppl van without insurance or wat.... THX :o

It ok, they took ur particular just in case the co van is a 'stolen' vehicle.

Since ur fren is drunk, and u r driving for him so shld nt be an issue.

This is the correct way.

 

For taxi is nt so, as they need e convectional license.

 

Car insurance cover the vehicle itself, no matter who is the owner.

(Correct me if i am wrong)

true... for issues like this the police wont saman u quitely eg send summons by letter... if its illegal it will be issued on the spot...unless things like speeding beat red light pavement parking etc.. den maybe they saman backside...

Vocational license is for taxi drivers.

They go study and accuire the 'special' license to rent n drive a cab.

hmmm...something like fork lift license.

 

 

If a person without this convectional license n drive a cab, upon encountering a road block, both parties will be penalised.

High possibility, nothing will happen to u.

but i am not a policeman or TP, so only can give my 2 cent advice.

Van should be covered under class 3? As long as vehicle weight

 

You need to check the insurance cover. Some insurance do cover the person only (cheaper). For commercial vehicle the company may cover specific persons only.

I think, commercial vehicle insurance covers only the company personal authorised to drive the vehicle. I might be wrong.

 

Since they let you off. high possibility nothing will happen to you la.

you don't have to worry because you can drive any car in singapore as long as you did not steal it (i.e. implied consent from owner) and the road tax is valid. insurance for cars can be comprehensive, or just 3rd party plus fire and theft, or just 3rd party. but regardless of this you can drive any van.
