Hi all just a question ah.

Lets just say i am not using my bike frequently, then i filled up my bike's tank to the brim with petrol.

then i only use my bike on weekends only, because i am nsf.

Now, my petrol has been on my tank for almost ending 3 weeks already... and my meter still says its full, my main concern is, if having unleaded petrol in the tank for too long will it cause any problems for the bike?

or anything?

yr input pls.

it's better than putting nothing in the tank at any rate. filling to the brim will protect the inner surfaces from rust. i think there're products on the market to fill your tank for extra protection against corrosion from storage.

3 weeks isn't a problem. of course it's a better practice to drain the petrol and use fresh gas. if you leave the bike too long say 1 year than your carburetor tiny holes or injectors will get gummed up and a myriad of some other problems. the old saying still applies - use it or lose it.

i dont see any issue... it spends a few months from the refinery to the petrol kiosk... not to mention a few million years underground lol... just make sure u switch off the petrol to avoid overflow

Not advisable to leave stale petrol inside tank for too long ....2 to 3 weeks should be max.

Tank would rust from stale petrol even if tank was filled to the brim.

I tranfer my petrol from my seldom used bikes to my other bikes and cars and pump in fresh petrol every 2 weeks or so.

My tank has been trouble free so far for years.

Petrol that u pump from the station into ur tank contain some addictive thus not advisable to leave in ur tank for too long.

They'll cause some problem for the carburator in the long run..

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

Hmmmmm...... I was thinking why not Fill up the Tank to the Brim to prevent rust, turn the Fuel C0ck to "OFF", then ride until no petrol in the Carb then Store?

Won't that be the best of both worlds?
